Loney is pretty bad. We've been waiting for him to come around for too long. He has dismal AB's too. Have you seen his swing? Put any stat aside and look at him lean backwards as he flails at a pitch (not just filthy breaking balls...but fastballs). He is incapable of getting any extension....anything he hits to the opposite field in the air seems like an auto out to me. He puts some horrible swings on the ball and that's just the naked eye.
Loney gets on base 33% of the time this year, Dee 25%. Loney doesn't make an error every game. Loney sucks, but he's not even close to sucking like Dee.
yeah Dee looks lost. he needs to be in AAA or at least be hitting 8th what are the other alternatives at short? idk. at least sellers can field
It's not really an argument of whose worse. lol Obviously Gordon is HORRIBLE on a whole new level and James is just horrible.
I can't believe you think I am arguing between Gordon and Loney. Shocked. Two completely different situations, I never meant to compare them.
Nothing internal. Sellers isn't the answer. Like TB said, Dee gets another month, but after that we need to make a move if we're still in the position we are.
im not saying sellers as a long term answer, but he hits the same as gordon and can at least field cleanly idk what another answer could be. i think we just have to live with it
At least Loney has a CHANCE to do something once in a while. Like I have a fraction of hope he can hit a gapper. Gordon....let's not even talk about it. SOmething still needs to be said/done about our corner infielders combining for 2 HR
Sellers over Dee is such a miniscule upgrade that it makes more sense to just stick with Dee and pray.
Dee has that fraction of future potential. And he will get his chance. But that cannot be much longer.
Dee's not gonna go to the minors and come up as a sure-handed, .300 hitter. He showed he can hit there, he showed he could hit in Spring Training. He just might not have the talent to do it in the MLB.
Dee has definitely proven that he needs seasoning. I think when Hairston comes back he'll probably be shown the proverbial door back to AAA. With regards to the loss, it's not too big a deal. That's a game where the opposing team one, no second guessing and no heart break. Although our lineup sucks horrendously right now.
