Nick Piecoro @nickpiecoro First time in Zack Greinke's career he has allowed five home runs. 6:55 PM - 5 Sep 2016
which is why i say he was still feeling the injury pangs from his knees and his hand you can expect a player to slump sometimes but batting sub 200 for that long for a player of his talent is very out of the ordinary its not if he was still being hampered by nagging injuries and/or recovering his form after having to play through injuries breaking your hand will have you altering how you handle the bat jacking up a ligament in your knee will have you planting your foot differently when trying to get bottom up power in your swing once that starts to heal then you have the task of getting back to how you normally swing its not always automatic, even if your injuries are healed
I really liked Greinke all the way up til he left for AZ so serves his ass right he got his ass lit up tonight. I know he obviously doesn't care because he's laughing all the way to the bank but when he's sitting at home every October maybe one year he'll realize how good he had it in LA. Great win and even better we gained another game.
Watching the highlights, Adrian hammered the hell out of that high FB A ball without question on an 0-1 count, that had to shake Greinke up to start out
glad you brought that up earlier in the year critics were saying he was showing his age and that his bat speed had slowed well the old man sure turned on that letter high fastball
He has back and neck issues and has said the shift messes with his mind at times. But when he's feeling good, I'm very confident with him at the plate. Gotta give him regular rest and treatment the next 2 seasons to get the most out of his older years.
Plenty of baseball left but yesterday was just about the most comfortable I've felt about the division. I'll regret that feeling in a couple days I bet but, the Giants getting shut out with only 2 hits in Coors meanwhile the Dodgers click on both sides of the ball to put them 4 up is a great, great feeling. Now, don't need to worry about the Giants, just keep winning and they'll have to pull off a miracle.
Yeah, Adrian's name had lost some respek for a split second, some even comparing one of the better hitters of his generation to James Loney. Average up to .293 after a couple years @ .275, certainly looks like he's figured it all out. But I was more impressed with him handling the location of the FB and opening up in an 0-1 count, not so much the velo of the FB itself. 92MPH is sorta meh, of course it's not 95 on the hands or anything like that. Not to take any cred away from Adrian because, again, he hammered a nicely located pitch, but it all basically brings me to this point..Greinke's velo is just down, down, down these days. Greinke was hitting 95MPH for us..and the Dbags went out and vastly overpaid for Mr. 92 who's game is just heading in the wrong direction. The man's ERA says 4.54, the FIP says 4.01, and the WHIP is 1.26..just the facts.
I'd hope they'd continue to pass on that..unless they don't have to give up any of their top 5 specs and ARI puts some cash in the deal. In other words, it's not happening..ARI will choose to make a stupid trade with someone other than the Dodgers and avoid that backlash/embarrassment.
Greinke's reaction to Joc's HR might have been the best Soon as it came off the bat he was like " aww man " and didn't even turn and look at it Lol Yasmani's exit velo on his HR must have been like 100,000
Yeah, he's a pitch framer and a pitch destroyer as well The Jason Varitek comparisons have some merit Now lets get some rings on those fingers like Varitek
