That was a fun game to watch. Keep Rollins in the two-hole. I know that may not be a popular opinion, but he IS starting to hit. His speed and experience fit well there, and over the course of the season I expect his average to get up a lot higher and he will pay dividends at the top of the order. Isn't he historically a slow starter? I was an Ethier basher, and I'm not afraid to own that. Obviously, I'm thrilled about his resurgence (or should I say "rebirth"?). But for the last couple of years the ball was dead coming off his bat. Most of his hits were cheap. Clearly, that's not the case anymore and I couldn't be more stoked. Congrats to you, Boo.
What a great game. Would have been real easy to get down after not converting that bases loaded-nobody out situation, but the guys responded like champions. This offense can compete with anyone. And what an outing by Bolsinger.
I like Bolsinger, I have more confidence in him being an option over an extended period of time than I do with Frias.
Just did a big move over the past few days so I haven't had the chance to catch any games. Glad to see the Dodgers are still rolling. Man, this offense is incredible.
The Rollins AB that really stands out was with bases loaded, 2-outs, game tied 1-1, and Rollins tried to drive the ball out of the park. Come to think of it, I don't remember the last time he didn't try to drive the ball out of the park. The guy needs to sit his ass in the 8-spot until he gets a clue.
yah, Rollins is a slow starter historically, but this is his worst start ever. he'll only be in the 2-hole until Puig gets back anyway, but i actually like him hitting behind Joc for now since it takes some of the protection away and puts the onus on Joc to stay honest. i mean as good as Joc's been thus far, they're still raising the kid. the strikeouts look bad, but a little failure won't hurt him..especially while the team still wins. all about progression for a rook. " basher " is one way to put it.." realist " is another. Ethier didn't really give anybody any reason to believe and we saw that on the trade market this past winter as well as nobody was falling all over themselves to add him to their team. but now that Ethier's pulling a bit of " a Kemp " in terms of rebuilding some of his value for us, he may actually be tradable now and what luck - right before he gets his 10/5 rights. and with Olivera maybe coming..and Seager pretty much ready and basically just waiting at this point..great timing by Ethier. we haven't been lucky enough to win the WS, but we have been lucky enough that some of these guys with terrible contracts are arising and rebuilding their trade value. even Puig and Crawford going down was a bit of luck for us because it allowed Ethier to play more and gain some steam. i would deal Ethier and cash for Scott Kazmir and call it a day..maybe a prospect or two going both ways as well..whatever. Kazmir is a decent #3 caliber lefty and he's a free agent after the season..Kazmir would give the Dodgers some insurance if Ryu isn't the same when he returns and also present the flexibility that they like after the season since, again, he'll be a free agent.
Yeah, no shit. Stanton is cut like an action figure. Could you imagine an outfield of Stanton/Pederson/Puig?
MARLINS REMOVE STEVE CISHEK AS CLOSER Miami will "mix and match" for now, using A.J. Ramos, Bryan Morris and Mike Dunn, manager Mike Redmond said. Cishek leads the majors with 4 blown saves this season.
Perhaps, but if Frias can give us a quality start tonight you have to be happy with both of their contributions thus far.
