    a) Because unlike Maholm, he actually had an upside at one point in his career.
    b) He's 4 years younger
    3) He wouldn't occupy a spot on the 40 man roster unless he got promoted.
    iv) He isn't a free agent until 2016

    Ron Howard is a ginger.

    Carrot Top is a good example of why gingers should be discriminated against.

    NOBODY that is on a baseball diamond 9 months a year has pale skin, even Carrot Top was sporting a tan at one point. One's hair does not have to be bright red to be a ginger, any reddish hue qualifies. Freckles are not a prerequisite, but they do enhance the effect dramatically.

    For the record, and you can check these posts, I'm not disparaging gingers, I'm merely pointing them out. Personally, I know some beautiful people who are gingers.
