Jesus christ. Based on the comments, you'd think the team was on a 10 game losing streak in the middle of the season. Did you guys just have a bad weekend or what? The hate on this board and wishing for Dodger players to fail is overwhelming. Can we enjoy this team every now and then, or are we just supposed to be miserable for the next 7-8 months?

    Overwhelming?
Who is wishing for players to fail?
Or is it if they show little or nothing and someone mentions it, as with Kazmir, and you wish he wasn't on the team, that's "wishing" for them to fail?
Wtf is there to enjoy about Kazmir at this point for instance?

lol, you just proved it with your last question. There is no enjoyment in seeing a guy hurt, but wishing to never see him again is exactly that, you are rooting for that guy to fail. It fucking sucks that he is hurt and not doing well, but do I want to see him in a Dodgers uniform again? Abso-fucking-lutely. I'd hate to see a guy that has the potential to be a top tier pitcher in the league, waste 40 million bucks that the club still has invested in him cause he is hurt. Is he going to return to that? Maybe not, but it was said already in this spring training that one day he is throwing mid-90's, the next he is throwing 80's. I'd love for him to get his hip firing again and we get a pitcher back that would be one of the better in the division.

The complaints about this or that have to outnumber the positives 8 to 1. Someone posts something positive about a guy and you get one maybe two responses out of it, but shit, Puig has a bad day and there 2 or 3 pages of bitching and moaning about it. It is not, "Hey! Puig realized he needed to make an adjustment at the plate and is working on getting back to going to all fields." It's, "Pssh, Puig is FINALLY working on his swing, fucking idiot should have done it years ago. Looks like he struck out today too, he's done, dude is garbage." You know, nevermind that he is still OPS'ing over .800 while making these adjustments and displaying harder and harder contact. There is no concentration on the positive outside of probably the Prospects page and even every now and then, the chosen few like to jump in and add their negative two cents.

Does anyone on the internet enjoy life anymore? Does anyone root for the success of others, or do they want them to fail to prove their own points? Jesus, the Dodgers have had a really good spring this year. Most of the rough spots can be attributed to guys who will never touch the 40 man. You'd never know that by reading a majority of these posts.

Scott Kazmir is due to make 16M this year.
He'd probably have to die for me to feel bad for him.

Report today that Kazmir will start the season on the DL.

It's tough to see Kazmir as an effective pitcher with a sub-90 fastball. I watched the first couple innings yesterday and I didn't think his command looked terrible, it wasn't great but he was missing close with a lot of pitches. The problem is that he didn't have anything to challenge hitters with, so he had to live on the corners. Last year before he was injured he showed glimpses of still having nasty stuff, but I don't see his current game going anywhere without that pop in his pitches. Hopefully he just needs some rehab to get his velocity back up.

CKwG, I hope you don't find the negative posting too discouraging. There will always be negativity (especially in a Game Thread), but I assure you that your posts and style are highly valued even by those who bitch in here.

i didn't see anyone wishing for players to do poorly
    in fact, quite the opposite
i personally thought/predicted ryu would do poorly and am downright giddy he appears to be headed in the right direction
i like you ckwg (no homo), but i think you may be misunderstanding passion as hatred
the passion that gives us elation can also frustrate and anger us
if our players struggle people are going to voice their concerns/frustrations
and don't get me wrong, i would love nothing more than to see guys like puig and kazmir excel and prove me wrong
    go dodgers!

This is more about his other stuff, but Ryu just blew a 3-2 fastball by the leadoff hitter. Didn't look overpowering, but it definitely fooled the hitter. I'm interested to hear how hard he is throwing as where the pitches are missing, it's on par with a guy that is overthrowing. The wind cost Ryu a 13 pitch first inning.

Yikes, he hung a curveball and Melky hits it out. Then Kike boots an easy one.

Lol is right. Way overboard about not enjoying life by those on the internet. Remarking or whining or complaining ( whichever makes the cockeyed optimists feel best) about a guy who has sucked for a big bit, earning 16 M per year, means you don't enjoy life? Double lol.
People will enjoy the team when they do well, and get grumpy when they suck, or get on a player when he sucks, too. And sure doesn't mean those who don't are better fans either. Nope.
Wtf is the big psychological shock about that? How old is baseball? It 's been going on for pretty much day one.
This optimist vs. pessimist shit is ancient, man...Nothing new. And the optimists, always with their shining attitude, prove over and over, all the happy, giggly overconfidence in the world, year after year....In the end...Means jack shit.
    X28.
And you may prove that again this year...Hope not.
I hope your sunny outlook takes us all the way though, I'll give you that.
In case you didn't notice, all those you call out for not being like you come back every season, don't they?

Yeah, wind is bad today. Hard in from RF and it knocked down a flyball to Puig(he caught it) and Kike looks like he crushed one that got beat down as well.

Just curious, is wishing a guy gets AIDS considered passion or hatred? I'm asking for a friend.

His right foot was like " fuck it, let's go. "
His left foot was like " don't you think we're a little too old for this shit? "
