    Which would be stupid. Yes, the bullpen has been better of late. But Stripling or Wood opening for us against that tough lineup? When the ROckies are throwing a guy who dominated us twice this season? I don't like it. Play to win the damn game.

    I'll be up working until 2 AM tonight so I'm free tomorrow to talk as much S as necessary during game time.

    Won't buy a ticket for tomorrow, as I'd rather save the money for the NLDS, CS or WS

    I get out of class 330 central so will catch most. Also will be in LA next weekend, very much thinking of getting some tix whenever we have somedefinite sense of what the fuck is going on

    yeah the bullpen isn't good enough to do this IMO. Kenley/Maeda/Alexander/Ferguson/Floro/Wood/Stripling/Baez MAYBE gets you through 7 innings to be honest. And that's a perfect case scenario with some names in there that are shaky. The other outs have to come from.. Madson? Rosscup? uh, Fields? Urias? Idk. You're basically needing 6+ outs from a group of relievers that aren't good, in a game where they probably won't score a lot

    I’d guess that the plan for tomorrow is bullpen game. Many on here look at it as “well if you lose tomorrow, season is pretty much over anyway.” That is not what the FO will do. Yes, lose tomorrow with Buehler starting and they’re fucked. Lose tomorrow with a bullpen game and at least they have Buehler for the WC game. Do the bullpen game at home with your 15 man bullpen and just matchup the hell out of it. Start Wood and hope he can get you 6 outs, maybe 9 and go from there. Same thing applies for him as it did for Hill in my book. The dude has shown up in some huge games for us, maybe he can do it one more time.

    Used to be that way, I think. In 2006 we finished with the same record as SD but settled for the WC because of head-to-head match-ups.
    Now, with the WC having more consequence, they've made a 163 necessary to determine the division.

    It does diminish the meaning of playing 18 games against each division rival though if it doesn't mean more than HFA.

    They should think that way because it's true. If we have to play that Wild Card game, our travel schedule, rotation, and potential NLDS opponent, etc are all screwed up.
