If Luis Cruz plays more than 1 game this series, I'm going to fucking punch someone in the dick. He shouldn't even play at all, but for whatever stupid fucking reason, we're continuing to play him. It's really unacceptable at this point.

    idk bro
dbb seems to have a hard on for him
like a parent in denial about their misbehaving kid... who then grows up to be an ax murderer
cruz is like a fucken cockroach -- every time his demise seems inevitable, "daddy" baseball steps in to save him
damn, cruz must have some incriminating photos or something -- i'd do something on photoshop, but meh...

You joke, but he AVERAGES a HBP every 21 ABs in his career. That's e a HBP once a week on average. He WILL get hit this series because of simple math, and then he will probably freak out again.

    ^case in point...

    With Capuano back, Castellanos optioned
NEW YORK -- The Dodgers activated pitcher Chris Capuano to start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader and made room by optioning outfielder Alex Castellanos to Triple-A Albuquerque. Castellanos started and went 0-for-2 in the first game of the twin bill, which Los Angeles lost, 6-4, to the Yankees. Making his first appearance since May 29 -- a day before he hit the disabled list with a left lat strain -- Capuano held the Yankees to three singles over six innings during a 6-0 Dodgers win. The lefty threw 51 of his 84 pitches for strikes and didn't walk a batter. With the move, the Dodgers will carry 13 pitchers, having used four relievers to pitch the final two innings of the first game of the doubleheader.

not overly opposed to keeping lee down for a while tbh
just wish we had someone better than magill to step in
then again... if nothing else, the motherfucker is due...

Magill the favorite for Dodgers' Sunday start
    By Ken Gurnick / MLB.com | 6/20/2013 12:20 A.M. ET

NEW YORK -- Manager Don Mattingly still wouldn't say on Wednesday night who will be called up to start for the Dodgers on Sunday.

But Triple-A Albuquerque's Matt Magill was yanked from his start on Wednesday night after only two innings, making him the most likely candidate.

Double-A Chattanooga's Zach Lee -- the Dodgers' No. 2 prospect, according to MLB.com -- was eliminated from consideration after pitching four innings and allowing six runs on Wednesday night.

Magill has had short and ineffective starts the last two times he was called up as an injury replacement, but he is on the 40-man roster.

The Dodgers could also turn to 34-year-old journeyman Matt Palmer, although he's not on the 40-man roster. Palmer allowed one run over seven innings on Tuesday night and is 3-3 with a 4.26 ERA in 11 starts for Albuquerque after missing most of April while recovering from left knee surgery he underwent during Spring Training. He is 13-7 lifetime in the Major Leagues, including 11-2 with the Angels in 2009.

Tuesday's rainout pushed back Hyun-Jin Ryu's start to Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader, leaving him only three days rest to return on Sunday.

I'm not against it as Castellanos is not something to be too excited for... I do think that DBB's hand will be forced when the other guys come back... there wont be a need of an extra OF, so Skip becomes mostly a 2B and Hairston an IF... that leaves no room for Cruz and his .100 BA...

    dbb loves cruz

Might as well forfeit. He cannot throw strikes. Never anywhere near the plate. He's terrible.

This is Ned's call isn't it?
Maybe Don wants him there as it seems he's one of Puig's "handlers"(wild animals need them), but personel moves are Ned's call in the end.
This reminds me of how Uribe stuck around for 2 miserable years, Don didn't even play him at all for most of last season yet he still was there, lurking. That had to be Ned, and Cruz is almost in a similiar situation this season. Don's hardly let him take the field lately, but he's still there.

Yesterday he struck out with the bases loaded and Don immedietly removed him, that looked like a disciplinary action to me. Cruz' only strength is his D, and Don seemed to say fuck that, go to the shower bitch.

The movie Moneyball kind of showed how a manager/GM relationship works(or doesn't) and there's signs to me Don and Ned don't agree on a few things.
IDK, I'm seeing another split between Don and Ned, does anyone else see it that way or is it all Don?

I'm not gonna call Magill a bust yet

Has he been terrible this year? No doubt

But it's something he can work on and fix, he's had success in the minors, so it's something he can control at times

Haha, just because there is so much negativity, I'd say Magill goes 7 IP and gives up 2 ER.

That .93 K/BB ratio from Magill is real sexy lol

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a guy who walks more batters than he strikes out lol

This is sadly too realistic BUT I'm with BLF on this; Magill will have a surprisingly great start.
