They do get after it a bit more in NY and BOS, especially when you consider the media

 

I thought it was a dumb reason too, especially when you come to a team like the Dodgers. You're hated by everyone in your division so they are going to be loud games every night as well. Media could have played a part in it.

 

Well, historically I mean what are you gonna do, NY and BOS are pretty rabid in regards to MLB, especially Boston, hate'em but they are worthy adversaries.
The media, all the national coverage, etc.
However, I hope Miller used those exact words " playoff like setting " just so I can get an extra laugh out of NYY missing the playoffs this year

 

I'm trying to find it, but can't find the wording yet. I do remember someone tweeting that the atmosphere was a big part in his decision...

 

De Leon felt arm soreness after his first start of the season so his next start was pushed back. I know there were a lot of folks that were not behind the club holding back De Leon so that he'd be ready to contribute down the stretch if need be... this will not sit well with those folks if this turns out serious.

 

Not exactly sure where you were going with the media comment.

West Coast media are kittens compared to their East Coast brethren.

 

We're probably overthinking it. I'm pretty sure they both preferred the East Coast for whatever reasons.

I was the Yankee game twenty minutes ago and there were 15,000 people there to watch the defending champs.

 

I have a 41,243 number in regards to tonight's attendance...that's quite a gap.

Alex Verdugo yesterday for the Tulsa Drillers 3 -4 2HR's and 7 RBI. Now hitting a solid .279 and is only 19 at AA!!!!

 

That's what I meant, he supposedly likes feeling the pressure from everyone.
Look, this is for everyone, I'm not agreeing with him and I'm not saying that he made the right decision. I am just repeating what I remember hearing after and during the time of his free agency. LA is always at the top in attendance and the Yanks are getting old, falling apart and are expensive. He probably used the reasons as a cop out and I wouldn't be surprised if he somewhat regrets his decision as he may get traded here after all.

 

The Dodgers two 19 year old outfielders are really holding their own right now. Wouldn't be surprised to see Verdugo and Diaz playing besides one another here quick.

I guess they do have an embarrassment of riches in the pen ( for no reason at this point)

Toles/Diaz/Verdugo together in AA, I think I like that OF

 

Was wondering where Toles went. When I saw him a couple weeks ago I thought what's he still doing in High A. I just don't like that OF I love it!

 

Yeah Toles was just toying with A+ ball, nothing left to prove there
He turns 24 this month so they're moving him quickly
Through 5 games/25 plate appearances with Tulsa Tole's is doing .360/.360/.720 with 2HRs
He keeps at it he might realize his dream, maybe not with LAD, but somewhere

There's that kid German Marquez from the Corey Dickerson/McGee/COL/TB trade
He's pretty damn good, looks like the Rockies might have gotten a good one.
Crazy to see Raul Mondesi Jr. get suspended for 50 games/PEDs...uh oh

 

K's have always been an issue for him, but now striking out at a lower rate (still not walking much at all), it will be interesting to see how he does in Tulsa. If he does well, they may not keep him there long as he is already old for the league. I hope he can continue to stay hot and make the trek to OKC.
