I really really hope this does not hurt as much as I worry that it will. Alex Freeman who covers the OKC Dodgers thinks this is going to have a detrimental domino effect on the Dodgers development staff. We have already lost a couple pieces to the staff this fall to big promotions in other orgs, but losing the guy at the head of the table could hurt the most. Kapler has revolutionized the way teams handle their minor leaguers and I hope this is a chance for us to improve on that with a different perspective.

It is amazing what Kapler is leaving behind, I (like I am sure the same as many of you) am sitting here wallowing in the shitty stench of last night's "Classic". If you take a step back and take in the state of the team, you realize this should not be a one and done. When you look around at every other NL PO team, only the Rockies are not decimated in their prospect ranks and they are a step behind us in the category. We have 4 potential stars/superstars under 27 in Seager, Bellinger, Puig and Taylor already on the roster and each has used the 2017 post season as a breakout party. We also have some of the most sought after prospects in the game knocking at the door. This team has a chance to be much better than what they are today and you got to thank Gabe for helping us to develop those pieces.

BTW, I thought maybe we could see a couple/big Philly/LA trades over the next season+, but after looking at their roster, doubtful they'd move anyone of benefit.

I'm sure it didn't help, but he said from the start that he wanted to be a coach. It will be interesting to see how he handles the job as guys seem to respect him in MiLB, but he is also rumored to be pretty tough and has a tendency to get under certain peoples skin.

Yeah, it would suck. No doubt about it.
Next year with this possibility, and the rise of AZ and CO ( minimally) the NLW may not be the sure thing it has been for the last half decade.
That's why I think two in a row is even more important than we realize.
This may be for us, the Battle of Jericho upcoming...where the walls come tumblin' down.

It almost feels like they are all thinking this is as far as they can take this team. If they were leading 3-2 instead of down 2-3, would all these leaks be coming out?

You know if Colleti was still in charge, he'd hire Rheghetti

Not sure if they saw this coming or not, but yeah I have no clue who could be next in line. If they knew this was on the way, they may already have someone in mind which is why they allowed Herges to go. I know a lot of people think Josh Bard has done a good job, but it would be pretty uncharacteristic to give the job to a former catcher. Technically they could also still bring Herges back as that would be considered a promotion and I don't believe the Giants could stop him from an interview. All this transitioning has me pretty nervous about next season and why I am even more on edge about tonight. It has the feeling of the opportunity of setting this franchise back a second. I keep looking at the Patriots for some hope as they get pillaged every year or two, but they are also a well oiled machine that has gone through this and we haven't won anything yet. Win tonight and I am cool with transition in the FO and on the staff, lose and I may not be so receptive to it.
