    On the postgame Hill admitted he didn't know how to slide feet first. He's been playing the game forever and he doesn't know how slide feet first?

    This obviously doesn't absolve Woodward of the worst third base coaching decisions ever.

    this baffles me
    my first year in college we had mandatory sliding training
    coach turned on the sprinklers and literally held our hands and we slowly went into slide mode then pulled us across the grass
    turns out, most of us did not know how to slide properly
    amazes me that a mlb coaching staff can't send anyone out there (pitcher or not) unprepared, facing potential injury

    as for woodward...
    one thing to err on the aggressive side
    but this guy evidently has only one gear
    before the play even happened (and i doubt i was alone), i was worried about hill spending so much energy on the bases
    and yes, i also thought the worst thing to happen was exactly what happened
    in fact i told my gf that a sac fly situation would be the worst possible scenario
    i seriously do not know how this guy has/keeps his job
