What a stupid, fucken, useless, hayseed, piece of fuck, inbred, dumbfuck, white trash, cunt, hillbilly, fucken asshole motherfucker!" I knew this was bogus as soon as I read this line. Rosenthal isn't smart enough to string together that many commas. Besides, 'hayseed, inbred, white trash, and hillbilly' are all redundant. For future reference, all true southern boys use the term "triple-inbred" when casting aspersions upon the object of their disgust. As in What a stupid, fucken useless, triple-inbred dumbfuck cunt asshole motherfucker. It also helps cut down on the number of superfluous commas. Carry on. :banjo:
I'm not his biggest fan by any stretch, but I don't want any controversy going into the season with two players that seem to like him being a year away from free agency. It seems like the FO recognized his biggest weakness (bullpen management) and added some decent pieces so that he may not have to rely on the same guys every night. Get this done and then lock up Kershaw!
Dodgers, Don Mattingly Agree To Extension By Zach Links [January 7 at 2:26pm CST] The Dodgers and manager Don Mattingly have agreed to an extension that will keep him in the Dodgers' dugout for the next three seasons, according to ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne. An official announcement is expected later this week. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter) reported yesterday that the two sides were closing in on a deal. Mattingly is under contract through the 2014 season thanks to a $1.4MM option that vested when his Dodgers defeated the Braves in the NLDS. However, Mattingly made his desire for a multiyear contract known shortly after the season in a surprisingly candid press conference. Mattingly has led the Dodgers to three straight winning seasons, including an NL West Division Championship and an NLCS berth in 2013. His job was called into question earlier in the season when the Dodgers were struggling despite the team's gaudy payroll, but Mattingly - thanks to some improved health and the emergence of Yasiel Puig - silenced critics by helping the Dodgers to a 42-8 run that vaulted them to the top of the NL West. Shelburne reported back in November that the two sides were discussing a multi-year deal and it sounds like they've finally hammered it all out. __
Let us not forget he's only been managing a short time and he was basically thrown into the major leagues based in large part on his name and playing career. I haven't looked closely but a majority of the MLB Managers have alot more experience as coaches in the minors before they got their jobs. He has made several blunders I agree.
Might piss some of you off but... He can't swing the bat, he can't throw a pitch, he can't field the ball = he can't lose a game. Only the players can.
no, but he can put them in unfavorable/precarious situations i honestly believe had uribe not homered to save his dbb's bacon his dumb ass would have been fired
I totally agree that the manager can put a player in a more/less favorable situation in a key moment of the game. But the manager can't go the plate, the mound, or the field for that player. Uribe rose to the occasion and delivered. Others did not/could not do the the same. Was it Mattinglys fault for pinch running Dee or was it Puigs failure to hit or move Dee over. Or Uribes fault for hitting into the inning ending double play? I'll bet you one thing- if Gordon had scored and the Dodgers won that game, no one would have second guessed Donnie. For my money, the managers influence on a game only goes so far. JMO
I blame Michael Young for anything negative. I'm going to try and continue that during the season when Kemp, Hanley, and Crawford all have their hamstring injuries.
