Everybody is against us because we have become what the Yankees were in the early 2000's. spending money on high priced FA's, throwing together a team of all star/MVP candidates, etc. That's one of the reasons I hate the Yankees to this day. I'm not surprised and its completely expected.

With that said I don't care what Mitch Williams says or Aaron Boone or Rosendouche. Those guys are complete tools and have never had any clue what they are talking about from a baseball sense as long as I've seen them from an "analysts" perspective. Mitch Williams always picks the phillies no matter what (for obvious reasons), Aaron Boone made contact with his eyes closed against a knuckleballer and it went over the fence 300 ft away and Rosendouche....we know this guy is a tool from his countless failed "rumors" and he's a baseball insider. Eric Byrnes is dumber than a surfboard but he has enough sense to know the dodgers are the team to beat.

All in all this team has a lot of expeditions to live up to and we all know it but I think this team has learned from the last month of last season. The hard part is over now it's time to just play ball. Hahaha the dbacks win the division.....psst please.

Three Dodgers decide against Classic participation
    By Ken Gurnick / MLB.com | 02/21/2013 5:23 PM ET

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Three of the Dodgers who are fighting for jobs this Spring Training have withdrawn from participating in the World Baseball Classic.

The three are left-handed reliever Paco Rodriguez, outfielder Alfredo Amezaga and right-handed reliever Peter Moylan.

Rodriguez was on the provisional roster for Spain, Amezaga for Mexico and Moylan for Australia. Rodriguez, the first player from last year's Draft to reach the big leagues, is on the Major League roster; Amezaga and Moylan are non-roster invitees.

Dodgers still planning to compete are shortstop Hanley Ramirez (Dominican Republic), first baseman Adrian Gonzalez (Mexico), third baseman Luis Cruz (Mexico), infielder Nick Punto (Italy) and right-handed reliever Ronald Belisario (Venezuela).

Players could miss up to three weeks of Spring Training, as World Baseball Classic games begin March 2, with the final March 19.

Although free agent J.P. Howell was signed to be the situational lefty with Scott Elbert recovering from elbow surgery, Rodriguez made an impact last September and he could force his way back into the big league bullpen this spring.

"This is my first Spring Training with the team," said Rodriguez, whose parents were born in Cuba but became citizens of Spain. "I want to stay here and get used to everything. I wanted to participate, but I felt I needed to stay."

Amezaga will be hard pressed to make the Opening Day lineup, but could be an early callup because of his versatility to play all over the field.

"Sometimes in situations, you have to think what's best for you," said Amezaga, who might have started in center field for Team Mexico. "It's best for me to stay here so they can see me and I can prove that I'm healthy."

Amezaga has had a series of knee injuries and was with the Dodgers in 2010, only to miss the entire season following microfracture knee surgery.

Moylan, an effective setup man with Atlanta when he wasn't battling elbow, back and shoulder problems, is contending for a relief spot.

"I'm with a new team and I wanted the organization to know that I was committed," said Moylan. "As much as I'd love to play for Australia, I'm really looking to establish myself here. Had I still been with [his original club, thre Braves], it wouldn't have been an issue."

I watched a few of the vids and it's just REALLY nice to see the Dodgers welcome back Sandy Koufax.

DBB was right that the pitchers just listen a little differently to Koufax versus ANY coach without such a pedigree.

And there ain't so many Koufax pedigrees to go around...

I was also thinking to myself that it would be nice if these three who stayed at spring camp made the team since they made the better career choice... though talent doesn't work that way does it?

Moylan probably will make the team if he is healthy, and Paco should make the team, but likely won't because he has options. Which IMO, is a stupid reason for a guy not to make it, the best guy should get the spot, particularly when we only have one other healthy LHP.

Byrnes is an extraordinarily obnoxious cunt but he does have some good views from time to time. And he expresses them with a LOT of force.

Please would everyone stop hating on gives Rosenthal some respect! He is a well thought of journalist who over the years has tried to give us good advice that we wouldn't listen to. How many off season did he try to tell us to trade Matt Kemp while he still have value and say we should go after pitchers who are now defunct on burned out early in their careers. Wouldn't you guy much rather have Eric Bedard now?

People hate on us because in less than a year we have done one of the greatest 180 degree franchise turnarounds in sports history. Not on the field but in every other way possible and imaginable. If we win it all that will be icing on the cake. Again who would have thunk over 27K season tickes sold and a 230 million payroll. All of the prognostication by sports writers were all wrong dead wrong and wrongly dead with no life or respect left in what they wrote. We can admit we were wrong, can they? All of these jerks were wrong during the season predicting the league would take the team over and we would have a 75-90 million payroll this year. Remember the conversations about us having a fire sale and Kemp and Kershaw being gone etc with so much of payroll for this year being eaten up by old contracts. Tee Hee Selig took it in the butt and along with the naked empororer all of this PR the man is God sports writers. They along with us dispised McCourt but we can get over his being a billionaire more easily than they can. Ouch that must really hurt the guys who had to actually cover McDouche and wrote his and the Dodger Imminent downfall. Tee hee. Enjoy it folks and watch them come wanting to suck off our locker room when we start kicking butt and they want a story.

After Hanley and Adrians first at bats of the spring it appears Mark still has work cut out for him increasing our plate discipline. Just kidding but it would have nice to have really worked the count.

Holy poop we stunk today. Well, except for Dre of course. :)

Puig is super fast for being 600 lbs of pure muscle, Hanley did the impossible by striking out on 3 called strikes, and the starting pitcher for the Sox was a godsend.
