This whole Julio thing is just too fucking sad to even contemplate.
I hope the kid can keep a smile on his face.

He's very young. My hope is he gets the time he needs to fully heal, rehab, gain strength and salvage his career.

Reminds me of Kerry Woods. Flamethrower that suffered injury after injury, but he lasted far longer than anyone thought he could. Became a reliever and survived.

Perhaps Urias can do one better by becoming an effective starter again.

Since when is the FO psychics you're absolutely right MZA!!! Santana was much older than Julio is now so that'll make a difference HOPEFULLY!!! Damn Shame!!! I personally am hoping this doesn't make the FO proceed too cautiously with regard to Walker Buehler who's coming off TJ. It's not the same injury obviously but it's easy to become gun shy.

    That's really encouraging to read:

Friedman took some solace in the fact that Urias suffered an “acute” tear on one pitch and that the injury was not caused by wear and tear. The rotator cuff and labrum remain intact.

The absence of scar tissue, which would have indicated overuse, should make for a clean surgical procedure and a better chance for full recovery.

“It makes it that much easier of a fix,” Friedman said, “and it makes his prognosis that much better.”

Pitchers pitch and young pitchers can pitch more. Coddling pitchers is like giving participation trophies. They will become a generation of 4 inning max Millennial pussies. No more true starters rather a couple 3/4 inning guys, some relief and a closer, along with the probability of multiple Hatchers... Joy.

Longing for CG's again ehh Darth?

    Me too.

Next time Clayton is rocking and gets pulled after 8 with 91 pitches and everyone thinks "no worries Kenley will get it done" they're missing the point.. that Clayton was getting it done just fine and he deserves to get the complete game.

One the other hand his playoff performance may necessitate the use of sharp relievers
provided we can locate one at the time
