Mariners acquire Domingo Santana from the Brewers....I will never pretend to know what is going on in Jerry Dipoto's mind.

So when every starter gets injured this season (as usual) we may not have the same depth to soften the blow anymore?

    Duh

Well said and with constant at bat watch him hit his potential.

Anyways this team needed to reset and hopefully we make changes with players that have guts.

This is why I don’t freaking understand the Kershaw move. The dude has been great and is ranked there with the all time greats but has no balls.

Straight up choker don’t deserve extensions or raises. Would of been fine watching him walk.

Guess because he is white. :laff:

Actually, it is deeper at the moment than it was going into last year. May, Gonsolin, White and Santana took huge steps forward and all have mid-front of the rotation upside. Then there is the return of Urias, plus the Buehler and Stripling breakthroughs. The starting pitching is still a strength. Kershaw, Buehler, Ryu, Maeda, Hill, Urias, Stripling, Ferguson, Stewart, May, Gonsolin, White and Santana.

Took less money to sign with the Yankees, I believe. Didn't like the fans on the west coast, felt the games weren't fun enough. What could have been....

Hill definitely above Joc, but yeah, both. They feel like a tandem deal. Rays for sure, after their surprising year, they may want a little boost. Wouldn't be incredibly shocking if Boston had a down year after winning WS and opened that division up a tad

    Subtract who..to add Kluber?
Duarte said a little while ago that a rival exec told him he'd be blown away if the Dodgers didn't get Kluber at this point

Other than Jeter, I have to believe this was just one step in freeing up RF and LF and some salary to back up the truck for Harper. Jeter maybe a plan for 2nd base long term(?).

Or, as difficult as it may be, Jeter maybe a key to a Realmutto trade.

I don’t know how Kluber will fit with what we have or can give. I would still choose SP over catcher.

    Me, too.

Great game and greater finish, especially against the hated ones.

It's not his swing I would worry about. It's his head. Fucker took countless pitches right down the pipe (full homo). Wondering what he's thinking up there.

    White like Jerry West.
You should check out how many times The Logo aka the White Jesus of Basketball was crucified over and over until he finally put the beast from the east down for the count and became the GOAT that has been Godfathering championship basketball ever since.
Jerry West had to suffer for years getting whipped in the playoffs.
He had to face all sorts of humiliations being beat by lesser players on lesser teams.
Was routinely roughed up, spit upon, elbowed and hacked nearly to death every time he was sent to the Palace. And it was worse at the Garden.
Luckily he would always find safe haven at the Lakeshow or back home at his mountain near cabin creek with his father and his motherland Virginia.
We would have never had all of the glory the Laker boys gave the world or the Magic of Showtime without the jerry-rigging that West had to do to keep the spirit of the team alive through stormy weather.

Kershaw has kept the Dodgers spirit alive since the teams descent into hell.
The team had to pay upon the death of the ownership dynasty for all its previous sins.
    We know what they are.
First the Fox came in to guard the henhouse and sold all our eggs in one basket making the team a ward of the McCourts.
    Fitting punishment.
But now its time for Kershaw to be the savior* he was destined to be.

*by savior i mean closer getting saves :D
