What's funny is we're 4 wins away from an 115 win season which would make us one of the handful of greatest teams ever, but yeah people have excuses

The beauty of it is that we are one of those teams.
But our FO and management realized that for a young team going into the playoffs with that 'title' might cause a letdown of some sorts.
I mean if the team wins the title of greatest season record it may go the their heads and set them up for a fall in the playoffs.
Let the fall happen when you still have time to get off the floor.
Just play it cool, dont let everyone know that you are tanking.
Dave was a brilliant tank commander this season.

Hope you watched it another 3 times and enjoyed the holiday, brofessor. My oldest bugged me about taking him to school this AM. Obviously, the kid hadn't heard about the new American holiday called " Dodgers win the pennant ". So many of the guys on this LAD team weren't even alive the last time LAD went to the WS, that I hope they all truly embraced the holiday. But hopefully they get back to work tomorrow because this Astro offense is coming out of it's slumber..I think they may have the edge in Game 7 tomorrow, a little home cooking may have gotten them hot again. We could be in for a Game 7 offensive barn-burner.

almost the best we could have hoped for
    obviously the 7th game
but houston semi-burning their closer with a 7-1 lead
while the yankees pen -- their supposed strength -- struggled mightily
astros starting morton who gave up 7 earned in 3.2 innings on monday to these same yankees
    keuchel supposedly available for relief
best wish would be for a long drawn out contest, everybody giving up runs, lots of boneheaded plays, every player on the roster used and exhausted, finishing well after midnight eastern
i won't ever wish for a player to get injured, but i'm okay if they're worn out

    know what's weird?...
it's almost like my mind still hasn't processed it yet
like tonight when they said "and the national league champion los angeles dodgers await the winner" it still caught me by surprise
i keep finding myself saying, "oh shit, that's right!"

Yeah, " TBD " is the blueprint for this team. Let's never see another long, draw out series where LAD has to fight tooth and nail and enter the next series behind the 8 ball. Hopefully, they carry the blueprint with them beyond this season..that means taking care of business during the reg season and owning HFA throughout as well..all of that. All of the above. Just beat the fuck out of everybody on the way to the WS and then empty the clip. Sounds easy. Lol

But I'm hoping NYY wins today. HOU having two big scoring games coming out of that series is a scary thought, even if their pitching is all over the place because that's how they won a lot of games this year..just outscoring teams. Why Keuchel and some others on that team were bitching about not getting a starting pitcher at the initial deadline. HOU was out there consistently whipping teams in the reg season 13-10, 12-9, 11-10, 14-12 and stuff like that. It's a scary offense..by the numbers, arguably the best ever.

Not buying into the 'Stro fear... at all

also not buying into the Astros have better offense, better starting pitching, better bullpen, better D, better coaching, better at everything mostly because they are not from LA.

OK the better coaching thing might be legit but not the others
