I would think that if McCourt was truly sorry for what he has done to the doyers he would increast the team payroll for next year to 120M to acomodate a Prince signing.

It annoys me how full of shit he was the past few weeks, everyone knew this was coming, why did he have to lie and pretend like we were gonna add a big hitter.

Exactly! Which leads me to the "forgive Frank" thread... I do NOT!

It's Neds fault more than Franks. Frank didn't run his fucking mouth like Ned did. If Ned would have stayed quiet, we would expect nothing. I never understand why GMs would ever say they are going to try to sign a big bat. Say nothing, then if it happens, the fanbase gets a huge surprise.

I hate both of them and I hope Kemp doesn't feel betrayed.

Why would Matty feel betrayed? He obviously wanted to stay here so he signed a lower salaried deal for the arbitration year. Doesn't change the fact that the overall value is 160 million and it's for 8 years.

Okay gang there was VERY little chance we would sign Prince and it was widely held that we wanted Albert more anyway. Bottom line with the sale process we weren't in it for either and all those stories were just a bunch of malarky.

I suspect that Kemp like many of us felt the off season would be an effort to build a solid team for next year. We don't know what other shoes will drop but one of them could be a pissed off Eithier who doesn't see the team getting better and if not offered a decent extension might ask to go elsewhere. We still are assuming Loney will be back but then again how low will payroll go?

What's malarky is that we have a shitty GM that doesn't want/know how to win. Relying on Loney and Uribe? GTFO of here Ned. Like every article said about the Kemp extension, it's not Frank's money, so why can he go do whatever the fuck he wants until it's sold?

^It's widely held that it's actually the mlb's money, they did it with the Rangers who were allowed to take on payroll while in their sale process. Have to keep in mind that nothing is business as usual when there is a sale.

I hate Ned. He's never been honest, nor smart. Even though we all knew it was false, Ned said in regards to the divorce, "It will have no impact on the team". Why did he lie? Yea, we knew it wasn't true, but why did he lie? Why can't he keep his fucking mouth shut? Then talking about adding a bat this winter...another lie.

And then there is the whole signing shitty players thing.

And what makes me so mad...things like, "Signing big contracts isn't always the way to go. It's been an issue"....UMMMM. Jason Schmidt isn't Sabathia! Uribe isn't Aramis! Pierre isn't Hunter! Etc. etc! God he is so fucking morinic. Maybe big contracts don't work out for you because you give them to shitty players. Ever think of that you piece of dog shit? Fuck Ned. I hope he fucking gets AIDS.

I read the Giant's payroll will approach $130M this year.
Doesn't it suck that theirs is higher than ours? I mean what a joke!

I dont really mind. As long as the organization is back on its feet by next year, I'm good. Plus the sale will in all likelihood be completed by the start of the season so a semi-big trade acquisition in June/July would probably be the new owner's alternative splash move.

I haven't been keeping as close of tabs lately, but isn't it looking more likely that the sale won't go down as soon as anticipated.

Oh, I have no idea. All that ownership crisis news was so confusing and misleading I stopped following it.
