For me the most frustrating player Dodger in years. Does just enough offensively to tease you, but wastes so many ABs.

Compounds it last night by dogging on the leadoff single. Cost Anderson a run. Not that would have mattered.

Getting really fucking tired of this pansy crying about his ex. He's making us look like a joke. LA fans/players have done nothing but show him massive support since day 1. Fuck off. Don't care how good he is

Sources: Freddie Freeman, who has told friends he's angry with how his free-agent negotiations played out, is changing representation, away from Excel. He is currently listed as being self-represented.

Clayton Kershaw Questions Freddie Freeman's Emotional Atlanta Homecoming
    By Matthew DemekeJun 28, 2022

Freddie Freeman had a very emotional return to Atlanta this past weekend when the Dodgers took on the Braves.

Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw had a front-row seat to all of this. The former All-Star had what seemed to be a reminder for Freeman after the whirlwind weekend by noting that he did not want the Dodgers to be “second fiddle.”

“It was very cool (to see Freeman’s reception Friday night),” Kershaw told Gabriel Burns of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He’s obviously been a big contributor for our team. And I hope we’re not second fiddle. It’s a pretty special team over here, too. I think whenever he gets comfortable over here, he’ll really enjoy it. It was a good night for him (Friday).”
Kershaw’s comments appear to be a gentle reminder to Freeman to remember which team he currently plays for. Freeman signed a six-year, $162 million dollar contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in March.

i was sick from the moment i saw him openly bawling in front of reporters before the series even started
and i've never seen a guy so into players on another team no matter who it was
it was like he was openly rooting for the braves last weekend
i'm a pretty emotional guy at times so i get it but this has to be pissing off the rest of the guys

I agree with you both. Glad for Freddie - he had his moment and was able to show his appreciation - but this should be the last fucking time we hear anything about that.

Solid takes on Freeman's priorities ...

I recall Brett Butler coming to LA from Frisco and wondering what his take on it would be... Thomas Boswell reported on that opening day game on 1991 when LA faced the hated ones at Candlestick...

    HATE, COAST TO COAST

    By THOMAS BOSWELL
    April 18, 1991

SAN FRANCISCO -- The first pitch of the Giants' home opener hadn't been thrown yet Monday night and already, out in the left field stands, the first brawl had broken out, with Dodgers fans losing gallantly but unanimously.

Before the national anthem could be sung, the Giants ignited a fireworks display down both foul lines. A typical Candlestick gale drenched the fans in the left field box seats with sparks and smoke. The San Francisco crowd gasped with concern. The Dodgers dugout about split a gut. May they burn to ashes.

As the first Dodgers player, Brett Butler, was introduced, the crowd of 55,000 tried to drown him with boos and screamed such things as "Butler, you're dog meat." Butler pretended to do a double take. Boo me? Your old leadoff-hitting hero? Your Satan-hating, banjo-hitting sparkplug? Where's your gratitude? Just because I jumped to the Dodgers for $10 million?

When he reached the plate, Butler did an exaggerated, slow-motion hug with Dodgers Manager Tommy Lasorda. Finally, Butler looked at his old Giants teammates, did a bow and doffed his cap with a sarcastic leer.

The Giants hate the Dodgers. And the Dodgers hate the Giants. They really do. You have to see it to believe it.

"Once the game starts, you watch -- the two teams won't even talk to each other," said Willie Mays before throwing out the ceremonial first ball. "It was that way when I broke in back in '51 and it hasn't changed much.

"My best friend was Junior Gilliam {Dodgers second baseman}. One time, I slid into second and he knocked out four of my front teeth with the ball. Tagged me in the mouth as hard as he could. Then, after the game we drove home together."

What did Gilliam do after the tag?

"Oh, I was spitting blood. He laughed at me," said Mays. "Those teeth were loose for three years. I didn't want to give Junior the satisfaction, but I finally had 'em pulled and got my {dental} plate."

Mays recalled a two-home run game against the Dodgers at Ebbets Field. "I came out of the park and had four flat tires," Mays said. "A Giant didn't go looking to fix tires in Brooklyn at night. I took the subway home and called {Manager} Leo {Durocher} to find out how to get my car back."

Times don't change much. True, Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles has become too laid back to contribute much to this greatest and bitterest of baseball rivalries. But awful Candlestick Park, the Parris Island of ballparks, more than makes up for it. Four years ago, however, even Giants General Manager Al Rosen had to admit that matters had gotten out of hand -- the night the fans tried to kill Kirk Gibson...

A couple things about this story; one, how many current players think like Butler, Gibson, Marichal, Mays, or Gilliam? Two, Boswell's writing is exquisite - and he isn't even as good as the Durslags, Murrays, Sherrods, Cannons, and Malamuds. But compared to the pukes writing copy today - Boswell may as well be Shakespeare.

And third .... Can you imagine what Bob Gibson, Don Drysdale, Sal Maglie, Catfish Hunter, Steve Carlton, Fergie Jenkins, or just about any pitcher in the game before 1990 would have done to Freeman for the rest of this season after he let all those tears flow?

I think Gibson might have pissed on Freeman rather than pitch a ball to him.

Lets see Cron picking his nose, Freeman yawning, and CK really stinking up the place.
    All around, absolutely an embarrassment.

sliders are getting 2" inches less break. He's throwing fastballs way more than he should. He has no business pitching in this park. This isn't even fucking baseball. It's like hitting a fucking softball.

The "air" in Colorado is the same for both teams, isn't it ?. If you moan and groan over the stuff, how are they squaring every hit up like they are ? Better hitters ?
Almonte's pitches were moving like crazy. No problems scoring off him at all.
Laughable...you look at Moronta's pitches...looks like he's throwing a wiffleball up there, the break is so severe.
