Thought Julio would be in a similar spot with JDL, shut down.
    Glad he's not.
Hopefully the ump is one that gives him a fuckin chance.

Last thing we need is Hernandez squeezing the kid. Seriously, Julio just can't try to be too fine tomorrow. Trust his stuff. It will be the walks that kill him.

these guys haven't been tested all season
    ran away with the divison
    bitchslapped the giants
and quickly jumped to a 1-0 lead in this series
i said this after game 1...
punch them in the mouth and let's see how they react
this is the first time they've been down in any situation all season
and all the while the media fluffed them and proclaimed them champs
and they drank the kool aid
now down 1-2, rest assured they're stressing
imagine the pressure of not wanting to fall below those lofty expectations
no way they come out loose tomorrow, they'll be pressing
gotta use their panic/overaggression against them
best way would be to jump to another early lead
this series isn't over yet... but it could be quickly if we shut them down

he said "you guys are two wins away from the world series..."
to hear that put into words... gave me chills

Closest we've been to the WS since 1988.

Cubbies didn't hit shit against the Giants, either (.200/.247). This hitting slump isn't a recent phenomenon.

Pretty much my same thoughts after Sunday's game. But now they're in a position they've never been. They've been the bullies all year and no one has pushed this team back. Now someone has stood up to them and there's no doubt they're feeling all the pressure. That's why they're struggling. They're lucky they aren't down 3-0 in all honesty.

With that said tho tomorrow is a big game. I have faith and trust that Julio will get the job done but lackey is a vet who's danced this dance before. We win tomorrow Id be very surprised if this series goes back to Chicago.

Fucking Lackey? Just the kind of pitcher we should cash in against, but probably won't.

    tomorrow is a huge game
all that momentum we have goes away if we lose tomorrow
i know it's obvious, but think about the difference between 3-1 and 2-2 with three games left
we've got em down, can't let em up

Yep. Tomorrow's game is every bit as important as today's game was. This series is far from over at this point.

Credit to you guys for beating Jake. He didn't pitch as well as he normally does, but I think it had a lot to do with you guys. Reddick stealing 3rd really changed the way he pitched to Grandal. On the other hand Hill pitched great. A lot of Cub fans are bitching about our offense. But I think people have seriously underestimated how good your pitching is. I did.

people have underestimated us all year
counted us out when we trailed the giants by 8 games
pronounced us dead when kersh went down
said we'd never get past the nationals
    and yet here we are
but this series is still a long way from over

    it absolutely did
must not have a lot of faith in montero blocking balls in the dirt
as a result he left one up in grandal's wheelhouse
