Get Grandal back to what he was before the ASG and this offense will be very good. Puig, Turner and A-Gon all rake.

    Good win. Fun game.

Watching Quick Pitch right now. I wish the Dodgers had a Trout, Harper, Stanton type hitter in the lineup. Beasts.

Also, I'm jealous of the atmospheres at Wrigley, Fenway and At&t where they pack the smaller ball parks every single game and create a great home field advantage for their teams. Dodger fans can be so lame. Texting, beachballs, and only sell out bobblehead games. :smh: I'm afraid of At&t park. I have to mute those games because their crowd is so good. Dodgers need to figure out how to make that happen at the Ravine.

    That is NOT the plan.

It will only be the plan if it's a neccesity.

    serious question...
what defines it becoming a necessity?

Giving out $350 million dollars (Harper) to a player is never going to be a necessity but if he makes it to free agency you're damn right I want Harper in LA

No reason we can't do it because it's a luxury.

I don't know the FO's definition, but I would say something along the lines of a catastrophic injury during a stretch run.

Imagine, God forbid, we're in a lead near the end of July and Kershaw suffers a career ending injury. No Urias, DeLeon, etc ready to fill in, the cupboard is bare, and the only choice is to trade for an arm as a rental knowing full well we either have to re-up that arm at the end of the season or go out and pay top dollar in the off-season. I would call that necessity.

Otherwise I think they continue as they are now, bidding on FA's at their comfort level for their value, but not overpaying for a Grienke because some other team panics and turns their pockets inside out for him. If they can get said FA at what they percieve is a reasonable value, with reasonable risk, then yes they will do that. But they're not going to go out and buy a Bryce Harper (btw, fuck that prick) just because they can.

Bryce is incredible. I want him at any cost.

I love the economical roster with tons of depth. But Harper would own this town and be a perennial MVP while doing it.

Bryce Harper has never done anything to offend or annoy me. Maybe it's cuz he's white.

    i get the hate
    he's a showboat and a douche
kinda the same reason puig gets hated on
    i don't like harper
but i'd take him in dodger blue any day
    but it's a moot point
nerds aren't going to spend on anyone
so we might as well not get our hopes up

He has a very high douchey factor. That's enough for me. Besides, pitching is what wins championships

It seems every time we start salivating over this player and that one, and start making lineups with them in it and how it would look, it never happens.
Stanton, Fielder, Fernandez, Chapman (almost!), etc...now it's Harper. The more it's talked about, the less chance we have, it seems.
I really don't know what a douchebag he is and what he has done either. Maybe if he was an established LA hero, and helped bring championships, looking the other way on his "douchiness" would be no problem...
I see Kobe being absolutely worshipped, and isn't he an accused teenage sodomist/rapist? That's gotta be worse than being a douche, no?
I don't see the Nats letting him go, anyway, like FL and Stanton...players like him come along very infrequently.

Not a big fan of Harper's act, but I'm all for guys who play their asses off to help their teams win, ala Kobe.

Bring him on, although I don't see this FO going for that kind of splash signing.

They're more enamored with proving how smart they are with dumpster diving signings.

Harper will be a Yankee, and that is probably for the best. If this FO was not willing to go $200 plus for their own SP, they're not going the same or more for an outfielder, albeit a transcendent one. It's not their MO.

They are clearly trying to follow the Royals/Giants/St Louis/Cubs/Mets/Tampa Bay model. Find talent cheap, build from within and pray it all comes together the right way.

Can't say I'm for this plan, but it looks like that's is what they want.

Remember, spend wisely.....the new Dodger mantra.
