I have a knack for observing trivial shit like that. Like cursing the people behind home plate at Dodger Stadium not watching the game. The important stuff flies right by me.
12 up, 12 down for the pen. Who would have thunk it after the way they started and considering the arms they're missing like Hudson and Treinen. Continued good health, JD. Looks like Miggy Ro might have made a visit to the Balco lab. Speaking of Miggys, looks like Cabrera hung on a little too long. He looked old and slow at the plate last night.
Yeah, Cabrera has been pretty worthless since 2017. I hadn't seen it in person (obviously not watching a ton of Tigers games lol) but he looks atrocious up there. He signed that 248M contract in 2017 and has legitimately been worthless for just about the entirety of that deal. It's easily one of the worst contracts ever given out.
He looked overmatched against Lynn of all pitchers. Reminding me of the Mets' version of Willie Mays.
I read that initially as " black hills". I thought maybe mad Crazy Horse respect from the Wokies...I'm OK wit dat.
Why is when our pitchers get injured it's always for some obscene amount of time ? They always seem to a be season or season 1/2 long, minimally. Could just be me, but the IL lengths seem for much more extended amounts of time than others. Thanks Baseball Allah.
i got it all from noticing people where they shouldn't belong to a $20 on the street as i drove by other day i complemented a restaurant owner on his new lights and he told me they had been there for 3 years... just got a call from the neighbor i had a geyser from a broken line in my backyard in fairness its a big yard but that's stuff i'd hear and see pretty fast before time to strap up grab the shovel and dig that bitch out probably had a slow leak for a month prior to the explosion but who knows? i do know my acute observation is no longer a super power and batman is sliding lol
i'm really fucking tired of mendoza at this point relentless bullshit and just said FF's numbers show his diversity just stfu and go away already
and yet he wins again leadoff runner gets on w the team down by one and Rojas (who bunted for a hit yesterday) swings away grounding into a force Betts follows w a hit that easily ties the game and w 1st and 2nd FF hits into the dp that sort of ineptitude may still result in a win against the tigers but no way against the better teams you'd think this would be the time to get the fundamentals down i heard a talk show guy saying there are guys practicing bunts before games wtf? is he saving it for a super duper secret weapon or something? had 1st and 3rd w one out early as well why not try something since these games mean NOTHING
Lou Holtz used both fundamentals & trickery when he coached. In weeks one and two, hed run traps or counters for a few series. Then he'd fake a punt and later, a fleaflicker and an end around. Why? Because now, the other coaches in later games HAVE to prep for those plays in their practice weeks. Holtz rarely ran those plays again but now, you force your opponent to adjust to that minimal possibility. Your opponent wastes precious practice time on plays you'll almost never run again. Good strategy. If Roberts wasn't such a dillhole, he'd use run & hit, a suicide squeeze, and the hidden ball trick. Why the fuck not? That way, opposing skippers would hesitate ever so slightly in October. But nooooo .... Scarecrow is the Northern Star, immoveable & static.
Great story about Graterol and the reunion with his mother after being separated for 7 yrs. Can't imagine what emotions he was feeling on the mound last night. Loved how Pepiot was allowed to pitch his way out of the 7th. All part of the learning process. If last night's result weren't so meaningless in the standings, the final play of the game would have been a classic. Clutch hit, good throw and great slide.
Well, don't quite know what to make of Miller tonight...basically, pitching like a pile of shit would be kinda accurate. P.U. James saves him from worse batting practice with super catch...
