Typical FUCKTARD drama. Nothing can ever be swift and/or straightforward, even a one for one swap.Other GM's see a glaring hole and they simply TCB and fill it, Bos, SF and CHI come to mind, you know, the teams that actually reach and WIN WS titles? Them?

Instead, we've always gotta be subjected to all this cutesy nerd bullshit.

I'm hoping Yangervis Solarte is the plan b
Any idea what kind of prospect package (no homo) it would take to get him?

No idea, his value as a 2B is dropped a little as his defense doesn't play as well their, but he has improved each year he has been up and he still has 3 years of control left. He wouldn't cost the team as much as a Dozier probably in top shelf quality, but they could want a good bit of solid quantity, likely Logan White former picks.

Camillo is kind of saying the same thing as me and his belief from everything he is hearing is a deal is probably won't get done. What I'm getting from him is it sounds like the Dodgers are interested, but not AS interested as everyone is presuming. Also:
Sources saying #Dodgers front office love #Rays 2B Logan Forsythe but there is no indication of a trade if this Dozier deal falls through

Harrison for sure, havent heard much buzz about Solarte and Profar from my sources.
^That was in response to a question of who else the team may have interest in.

I really hope that Harrison is not plan B, C, D or E. He has had one good season and it was 3 years ago.

Josh Harrison hit lefties well last year, maybe they want Harrison at 2B and Kiké in CF vs LHP

Too bad about Dozier...it would have been fun reading " BriDo" when he did something good...or bad.
Oh well, maybe we can get LoFo...or some other mofo....

Yeah its a wrap on Dozier when Nightenfail chimes in

Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) The #Dodgers are the heavy favorite to land
    #Twins 2B Brian Dozier,but Twins continue to
insist they need more than Jose De Leon to
    move him

I just want to know what it is that they insist on? Like is it really one of Bellinger, Alvarez or Buehler, or is it just more of lesser guys.

He was over 300 points better on OPS than Utley vs LHP, but on the whole Utley was better. So do you bring in Harrison and bring Utley back? That's a hell of an expensive platoon.

has to be de leon plus one of bellinger/buehler/alvarez
if it was more than that the conversation would have ended right there
glad the front office stuck to their guns
dozier was their #1 2b target
but they obviously have a backup plan if it doesn't get done by this weekend

Agree on the side of adding Bautista regardless of the draft comp attached.
AMA the farm is well stocked, gotta be one of the reasons they're good with shipping a JDL level guy off in the 1st place.
They've already reaped the benefits of letting guys like Greinke go, its the most resourceful farm in the game so tax penalty's gotta be a bigger issue here IMO.
But yeah its really no different than agreeing to take on Braun for much bigger money/much longer commitment + MIL gets Puig.
Plus of course if Bautista has 3 or 4 bat flip blasts in a playoff series it'll be gravy.
We know he has some show in his game, could potentially put on a show at DS because of the bombs he puts in the seats.
Right now he's being Howie Kendrick'd by the QO because he's an older guy, but I hope LAD steps in like they did w/Howie last year, at some point the value is too great pass on.
Agree w/CKWG, figure out a way to offload Kaz/Puig/McCarthy and lessen the blow to the payroll.
But to me, if Bautista is on the board as an option, I'd also maybe lean toward having Mike Napoli as an option.
He slugs at some pretty key spots and has played in the OF before so he can't be any worse than Bautista currently is out there defensively, stash him in left.
He could also maybe step in at catcher at times as well as 1B too.
Protecting Adrian and Yaz going forward would make a lot of sense and Napoli wears a lot of hats and can help there immediately.
Bellinger is coming for Adrian, but not yet.
Napoli also seems to play late into OCT every year, so he's got a lot of good playoff experience and success w/different teams and guys seem to like him.
Think he'd be a good fit, maybe a better one than Bautista, and maybe they'd have to go an extra year for Napoli, but hell the books clear in a couple regardless.
If they go w/Harrison @ 2B maybe they grab McCutchen as well.
    Guessing it'd be Harrison/Utley
Harrison would be a downer, but he does do some things they could use like contact rate.
At this point I think I want them to get Forsythe/Napoli

I'd offer JDL + Oaks + Puig and leave it

Napoli has played 50 career innings in the OF where he made 2 putouts and 2 errors and he hasn't caught since 2012. He is old and very slow and can play everyday still at 1B or DH, so the chances the Dodgers signing him to play LF and backup C are basically 0. He would be much much worse than Bautista who still has a very good arm and though not great in RF, he's not exactly a trainwreck either. Napoli is just not a fit for this team as he plays 1 position that we can use him at, and the regular who is ahead of him would give him 10 maybe 15 starts, which is probably not gonna cut it. Plus, there is a rumor that he is getting a multiyear deal to go to the Rangers.
