That was so infuriating. I think I'm gonna throw 100 on the Giants to beat the Cubs and 100 on them to win it all just so when they inevitably do there's a silver lining

 

The frustrating thing is the disconnect between the fans and FO on this. I get that we needed to take care of ourselves for the playoffs first, but it felt like they excessively didn't give a fuck about winning the final weekend. I honestly think the FO doesn't care who wins the WS if it's not us... if it's not us then it might as well be the Giants.

The weird thing is we are rooting for the Cubs when in reality I think we'd match up better against the Giants, if we make it to the NLCS. The Cubs are good. They have everything. The Giants have weaknesses and we've shown we can beat them (when we try). But like everyone I will root for the Cubs. Who will the FO root for? I can take a guess.

Just stop, B2B. The real reason you aren't that concerned is because if the Giants do win the WS you'll just shrug your shoulders and say "oh, well". Of course the Cubs are better. A LOT better. We all know this. But we've also been around baseball long enough to know it doesn't always play out how you'd expect. Deep down you know this.

We also all know the Giants will crush Chapman if it comes to that. They will slap seeing-eye-singles and walk on him to death because... baseball. I agree that the Cubs are a much better team, but if you have to point out Chapman as the reason why, then I'm already justified in being nervous. Here's to hoping the Cubs crush them (and they should) , but you feeling calm about this doesn't mean you know something we don't, it just means you care less.

 

I know what you mean about the Cubs fans, those fuckers are sprinkled everywhere. There's no rhyme or reason to it either. Every office has a Doug, die-hard Cubs fan who grew up in Hacienda Heights and has family in Philadelphia and Spokane, why he's a Cubs fan beats the shit out of everyone but he wears his Ryne Sandberg jersey religiously every other Friday. Part of it is likely fallout from WGN being so widely available for so long, the other part might be a hipster-like culture of people who want to pretend like they've suffered for 100 years even though they're 25. Whatever it is, Cubs fans suck. Giants and Giants fans suck too. The entire American League sucks. Mother fucker, I think there's only one way out of this.

My worries just 110% have to do with LAD and mainly their own choke artist/crybaby closer Jansen and CK.

 

After watching/reading all this bullshit about Bumgarner, I actually wouldn't mind an LA v SF NLCS. We were 4-1 in games against Bumgarner this season, the only loss being the last one when we didn't care.

In one of those games the Dodgers had one hit though seven innings. If that hick didn't lose his shit with Puig he probably would have pitched a shutout.
