    Usually he starts the season strong but by the end his body is giving up. Hopefully this year since he's coming in midway he'll be at his peak in the playoffs.

    My admiration for Kobe will always be maximized by the fact that he only played for the Lakers. If he had ended his illustrious career elsewhere, ala Jordan, I'd still respect him for his skills and accomplishments, but the memory of him in that other jersey would detract from my overall respect. Kershaw needs to stay a Dodger until he hangs them up.

    the best was jackie
    late in his career the dodgers (for whatever reason) decided to trade him to the giants
    but when they told jackie, he chose to retire rather than play for the giants
    i.e. fuck the giants

    Well I was happy getting Kersh one more year. There are so few Dodgers on this team I recognize as Dodgers. I just wonder who Muncy meant by selfish in his one quote. And as a heads up to everyone here I am a long time Dodger fan back to the Garvey Lopes Russell Cey days. Best summer ever was listening to Dodger baseball on radio in 78. Did not have TV much and almost zero radio though late at night I could get Vince on a Vegas station. My older brother and Dad were yankee fans so 77-78 ending badly for me.

    sounds like you're like most of us here, some guys go back even further to Koufax and Drysdale days
    most of us have been here for a lot of years posting nonsense and fucking w each other
    we have separate threads for politics and off topic etc that aren't for everyone but don't take anything personally
    everyone supports the blue in the end and we even have game threads as the season gets going
    hope you hang out cause its a fun place and you can say pretty much whatevers on your mind, and we do, even occasionally wishing death on players
    just one golden rule...don't be a douche!

    Welcome! My guess, and it's only a guess, is that Muncy was referring to Kenley and his perceived refusal to fill any role other than closer. But I don't know. Yeah, 77-78 were tough, but at least '81 got us a good measure of revenge.

    I think you and I have a lot in common. I also got hooked on the team in the 70's - Cey was my favorite as a kid, hence my avatar. Were you up in the northern part of the state? I too went through the nightly ritual of trying to catch the Vegas station. In fact, I described it in detail in this tribute thread to Vinny: The RIP VINNY Thread

    Like diablo said, I hope you stick around. Wondering how you found us - it'd be good to pick up a few more members to make up for the occasional ones that vanish into the great unknown. We're a pretty small group, at least in active members, but we have a good time celebrating the good and agonizing over Dave Roberts, er... I mean the bad, together.

    Went to school in Alaska so I guess that is north! College years in Boise area of Idaho where I got the Vegas station.
    I figured Muncy was mentioning Trea and Scherzer. Not sure about Belli but maybe with his almost refusal to bunt or try and drive it to left. Kenley could be a option
    I am in another Dodger board that basically died out and moved to Facebook with three members now. I just did a google search and looked for one that had active posts. I just need a place to vent my frustrations to cut down on throwing things.
