    what an entitled ckunt

MLB insider Jeff Passan of ESPN is reporting that Ohtani and his camp want to keep free agent meetings secretive, and they will hold any leaks against teams.

“If there is one thing to know about Shohei Ohtani’s free agency, it’s that you are unlikely to know much about it until he signs somewhere. If visits between Ohtani and a team are reported publicly, it will be held against the team, so the circles will be tiny and tight.”

Ohtani has never been a big fan of people knowing what he is doing, so this falls in line with how he has shown himself to be over his career. He likely wants to make his decision without media interference, and that is his choice that teams must respect.
coupled this with the last (first) time he was available in 2017/2018...

Two stars from the Los Angeles Dodgers were less than enthused to see their team in the offseason sweepstakes to sign Japanese free agent Shohei Ohtani.

Justin Turner and Clayton Kershaw were both part of the Dodgers’ official meeting with Ohtani, who eventually signed with the Los Angeles Angels. Turner called his involvement “a waste of time,” while Kershaw labeled it “a gigantic waste of time,” per the Los Angeles Times’ Andy McCullough.

Turner discussed his frustration with what he thought was a lack of engagement from Ohtani.

“He might as well have not been sitting there,” the 2017 All-Star said, per McCullough. “We might as well have been speaking to a window.”

SOURCE: The #Dodgers will be very aggressive looking to sign the two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and get the 11-time All-Star center fielder Mike Trout via trade. They are willing to give up their best prospects in exchange for landing Trout.

this guy claims to be an mlb insider smh
first off, moreno would never trade trout to the dodgers
secondly, why would we or anyone want a guy who’s averaging 72 games played over the past four years at >$37m/season for the next seven years?

That guy has broken several free agent signings over the years, most of them have been of latin players though. Like he has definite credibility, but I'm still not buying this one only because it's just too far out there.

For me, your bolded sentence makes me abhor this diva scumbag.
What's the difference who we get actually, anyway ?
For a team that hasn't won a post season game in multiple years ?

    nola back to the phillies

    Jeff Passan@JeffPassan
Right-hander Aaron Nola and the Philadelphia Phillies are in agreement on a seven-year, $172 million contract, sources tell ESPN. The deal is pending a physical. But it is done, and Nola, who has spent his whole career in Philadelphia, will remain with the Phillies.

fatfuck Lynn has agreed to a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals, 1 year and 10 million dollars, so that is approximately 250,000 for every home run he will give up.

So it looks like the #Dodgers and the #Braves just came up short for Aaron Nola. The reported number the Dodgers threw Nola's way was 165 million. With Yoshinobu Yamamoto posted today, there is no reason why the #Dodgers do not throw close to 200 million or more for the 26-year-old from Japan.

after last offseason i’m fucken jaded and suspicious
makes me wonder if friedman’s plan is to deliberately underbid on guys like nola, giving the appearance he’s in on everyone

Seems highly unlikely we came that close, IMO. 7 year offer from the Dodgers for a 30 year old screams fake news to me. The AAV is nice, but I don't know.

This guy has been a workhorse since entering the league too, he has hardly missed any time. Even if he's a guy that doesn't throw all that hard (fastball sits low 90's), I have to imagine there is some legit concern that he will face some kind of arm trouble sooner rather than later.
