That's a great question, and I want to say it wouldn't have. But I don't really know the rules behind protesting especially with the addition of replay but I know that games in protest rarely go the way of the protestor with missed calls. Usually only win a protest on some malfunction, not a "judgement" call Speaking of relay, don actually had a great idea about it that I can't believe isn't inplemented. Said that the ppl in NY shouldn't know the call on the field so they themselves make the call they see. Seems like the whole "inconclusive" is lazy and could be possibly used to protect umpires. The other way is fair
yeah and who knows... if he protested they may not have come forth and admitted the error that is a great idea only problem is that the ump [making the call] is often in one of the shots
Rugby League here has a similar replay system here, and it too evolved so that the on field call is upheld if calls can't absolutely prove otherwise. It too, has gone too far. The other night the Rockies scored that tying run at the plate, and yesterday was a missed catch. It really goes both ways, no use crying about it, I mean, it's the fucking Marlins just win.
Why even admit to being wrong? We get absolutely nothing out of it and leaves it feeling more pissed off. "Hey we fucked up and there's absolutely nothing we can do to change that, but we thought we'd go ahead and let you know."
