As much as I LOVED Kemp, I am OK with this deal outside of the money that went back. The part that has made me warm up to it is with regards to how much of an issue he had with management and how bad he was in the clubhouse....or at least how much it is being reported. Honestly, I knew the guy didn't always have the best attitude, but I thought a lot of it was OK since it was usually when the team lost and/or played like shit. I like the fire he had and that he also seemed to have a lot of fun on the team. All in all, I'm ok with it, but not thrilled.
When he sat out like a week moving from CF to LF I was like WTF??? The team said it was to make sure it was a smooth transition or some such shit but I've never heard of a player sitting out a week to move from one OF position to another. I knew there had to be some clubhouse crap going on.
The money was the only way to deal him but we don't have pay the 70+ million which gives us the financial flexibilty. It's a consensus that we didn't get enough back but we have to wait and see.

it was so obvious that something was going on because not long after he had Stewart speak on his behalf to try and put some pressure on the FO to move him...voicing his displeasure through his agent and stuff. talkin about " his plans to get CF back in the future. " if it's all about " the team trying to help make a smooth transition "..why's he whining to his agent when they're looking to help him? not asking you personally..just sayin..i never bought that bull. agents don't do that kinda stuff without their client's direction..a lot of people were in denial.
