Perfect series for the kid to start his career in the show. At Pads with all RHP on the bump. Also it helps to have 6.5 game lead in the division... Let's go
even better... 8 of the last 9, after having dropped 5 in a row swept the reds; a bad team we needed to beat then took 5-of-6 against two very good teams talk about getting it done! very pleased with the last week+ and now we really need to keep it going against the pads
Corey could see work as the DH when we play the Angels or play SS while J-Roll either sits or DH's. Who knows what will be on the fertile mind of DBB.
fixed in fairness, dbb has steered the ship pretty well the past few days and huge props to him for leaving kersh in last night... better than any option he had in the pen
I hear you about leaving him in there but he had no choice actually. He used Kenley in those 2-3 run lead games which forced him to rest him last night but I guess he could have trusted JJ.
Kershaw wasn't coming out without a tractor and an Army platoon. Just saying. And didn't we all scream last year, and indeed the year before, about all of the Dodger hammies getting pulled? And we still have the same flaky wench trainer who is afraid of the players and doesn't care to make them stretch? Just saying. No stretchie = no hammie. Important as kids but these fools think that old bodies don't require the same diligence
Do you think he can hit towards the top or middle of the order right now? Obviously Donnie won't do that but do you think he's capable of taking big offensive responsibility?
Geez, I don't care about the whys anymore. After all this organization had done to protect Seager, I'm just dying to get a taste of what this kid can do. It better be worth it.
Im excited but I don't see this as anything more than a cup and a half of coffee. He'll get some ABs and perhaps spell rollins and JT. it'll be good for him. But im not expecting anything crazy from a rookie in September.
Rollins has a .290 something on base. He's hitting .210. If he gets injured and Seager gets the nod are the Dodgers better off? Or is there something to be said about Rollins' defense, leadership, and experience? @chrisdodgers @doyerfan @VRP
1) I believe they are better off with the better player, Seager 2) I value Rollins and Seager's defense about the same. 3) I also think Rollins leadership and experience is invaluable, and if push comes to shove in a big playoff game they would probably go with Rollins to bat 8th. Never know though, the Dodgers make decisions based on analytics & opinions of the big four (Farhan, Fried, Byrnes, Kapler). So it depends what they think
