    In all honesty, I'll not be so harsh in GTs because I want everyone to be able to enjoy it and have fun. Definitely don't want it to be a place where people avoid or don't like the posts. Especially for the playoffs, because I hope we have a lot of guys around for that.

    To me, I think the biggest thing that happens is when someone has a shitty AB it's "player x sucks dick, DFA him" and not " why a shitty AB" the latter is fine, cause shit like that will happen, but stuff like the former is what is mostly sai and we can't respond refuting it cause it's a GT even if it's a much bigger statement. Like te difference between saying "that's a stupid idea" and "you're a stupid idiot"

    But I think everyone's got what's going on, we all just want something where everyone can comein and not just be mad, especially for the playoffs. It doesn't mean anyone needs to leave for the sake of others but maybe just both sides needa see what the other side is gonna do.

    the problem is often with the tone of the response(s)
    don't agree with someone, fine... again, don't respond... or do
    but the cardinal DSP rule still applies -- don't be a douche
    i don't agree with the way boo attacked TB and hopefully it was a one-time incident
    there's something that seems to get forgotten when the emotions start to run high -- we're all dodger fans!
    and, last time i checked, we're playing in october
    i think we all need to take a step back and take a breath

    I don't think anyone here wanted this to turn into an issue. Ford posted that jokingly, and a couple guys said that they avoid the GT's because of those types of posts. If those types of posts disappeared, I'd post in the GT's more, if they don't, I won't, but it's not that big of a deal. It's a tired argument we've had too many times, that we'll always have to agree to disagree. I didn't mean to offend anyone, and neither did anyone else, I'm sure.

    Thanks for all the comments this morning guys, and Thanks again for Fordie for the hilarious GT comment summary. He's been around these boards a long time.

    This is a Dodger thread and that sort of means that people posting here want the best for the Dodgers. It would be nice if the comments reflected that.

    Now don't go chasing me with pitchforks for being all kumbayah in the light of day.

    Maybe sucking his dick is a little much, but Vinny is a fucking Giant fan, always was, and always will be. He congratulated them last week just before the Dodgers clinched in AZ, (about 30 seconds before) as if they did something really good by having CO behind them in the standings. They went from first to next to worst, and fuck them and all their players, except my favorite, Beard Wilson.
    It's sad that Vinny is a Giant fan, IMO, but it is what it is. His genius as an announcer does not dilute his love for his favorite team...or vice/versa.
    Not everybody is down with that. It's not OK with everybody.

    BZ, I highly doubt that Vin is as big a Giants fan as you assume.

    He's spent 63 years on the Dodger side and has spent his career trying to be fair to all players and teams rather than be a one sided homer announcer like so many others. For that alone I give him my admiration.

    Yeah it gets old listening to him sing the praises of CarGo, Pence or Goldschmidt but they are good players and he's just trying to be fair in his broadcast.

    Defending Vin forever... which should only be another year or two at this point until he's replaced by someone less than half his age with none of Vin's talent for calling a game.

    Not every viewer or listener is as rabid a fan as the DSP Dodger fans and 'maybe' some others actually want to know something about the opposing teams better players.
