I freaking hate Puig. Be a 4 win player all you want. Ain't no superstar. Our offense has nobody that can just step up with the crowd going nuts and belt one like Bautista did just now. Man that drives me nuts. There isn't one guy in our lineup the other team fears. Puig is supposed to be so much more than this. I don't care that his overall production has already paid for himself. Stop with the peaks and valleys and put it together dude. Baseball is hard but there are guys with way less ability than Puig kicking ass. I don't know what's up with this guy. It's more than injury.
I wanted Encarnacion the year we got A-Gon and co. Mostly because dude can hit bombs, but also his badass name.
Idk, in my opinion he was this for two years. Not in playoffs, I guess, but he was a dude who on both sides of the ball got the crowd more excited than anyone. And his career ain't over, and using Bautista and Edwin here is a nice example considering those two guys have been through many transactions where they weren't wanted It sounds annoying to constantly say, hey he can turn it around. And maybe he becomes simply a good player and not great (or maybe he becomes shit?) but I guess I personally just don't share the same sentiment where I feel as if he should be held to a much higher standard just cause of his athleticism. He's just not a failure in my eyes if he's not a top 5 player in the game, I'm gonna be disappointed greatly if I have that standard IMO. But I will say out of all the younger players I do want him to be great over others just cause I feel he's the most exciting to watch and can make long seasons fun
Also, if Puig hits a big home run in Game 5 I'm making TB make angry threads about me so that something amazing will happen to me
really hoping we can get to degrom the kid is tough, to be sure but if we can get a lead, especially early... have to like our chances with zack on the bump
Hopefully this is more about the whole offense not having anyone to step up rather than just piling on Puig. He isn't even playing tomorrow so we can't really anti-jinx him.
The whole Blue Jays lineup other than Tulo is guys that no one wanted and became stars. Pretty rare (and might have more to do with that stadium than people give credit to)
Puig's issues are with his head. Something tells me he's not exactly "working on his game" as much as he's working on a lot of off field fun stuff. He just looks baffled when he's batting, and his power has completely disappeared.
He can.t even hit a fucking foul ball, how's he going to homer? Joc, Crawford and Puig are like lost kids in the forest, and they aren't finding shit let alone in a key moment for us.
Well, Josh Donaldson was pretty damn good before he got there, and I didn't really get why Beane gave him up for pennies on the dollar.
