the guy's clearly frustrated, i get that but you never, ever, call a teammate out like that publicly you either handle it internally -- behind closed doors -- or let the manager handle it defending chumps melting down how's that view from the cellar? get used to it -- that's where you belong and are destined to stay bkitches Madison Bumgarner is not a Happy Camper by Craig Calcaterra | NBC Sports Hardball Talk August 8, 2013, 9:14 AM EDTThe Giants are in last place in the NL West and are playing some ugly baseball lately. Madison Bumgarner was unable to play the "we just got to play them one game at a time" game after last night's dispiriting loss to the Brewers. First, he described a misplayed bunt thusly:"The bunt had dropped back to me and we had a chance to get him at third. I come up to throw and the guy’s not on the base," Bumgarner said."The guy" being Pablo Sandoval who broke in to get the bunt but then was late getting back to the bag for Bumgarner's throw. Yes, he is describing the play accurately, but it’s not common to see a player actually point the finger at a teammate like that.Bumgarner had a general negative take too. From Hank Schulman's gamer:Madison Bumgarner was asked if he thought a team so used to success might be checking out mentally now that loss after loss has knocked them so far out of contention. "Sometimes, yeah, I do," Bumgarner said. "It seems like it some days we come in here, and some days it doesn't."Bumgarner pitched well himself into the eighth only to get no run support until a 1-0 lead late, so it's understandable if he was frustrated. But Bruce Bochy is probably not too pleased with the public airing of disappointment. .
Just another piece of evidence that all that "chemistry" bullshit was just about them winning. When you're winning, a million narratives about great chemistry are made, but not when you are losing. Look at that chemistry now, huh you fuckers?
exactly and where's that belt bkitch now? hey brandon, you were right... we couldn't buy chemistry so we settled on buying talent instead and guess what?... winning creates chemistry, bkitch
Idk the exact situatiin here but if it was only a runner on 2b at the time then the ss should have been covering third and not pablo,if it was runners on first and second then it was pablo's job to cover. The wheels can fall off all they want, for as long as there is a tailpipe the giants can still ride
As for team chmistry I think its highly overrated.winning creates chemistry and losing tears it apart
Haha that picture of Kung fat panda with that big bowl of fat in front of him and that smile on his face is priceless!
Hmm apparently they aren't selling out games anymore too. But but every gnat fan told me they are loyal! Win or lose!
it would be nice to blast Belt's twitter account with "How's the cellar looking? #youcantbuychemistry"...
Bumgarner was wrong--no doubt. Pablo fucked up--no doubt. They will still go with Bumgarner. Pablo and his weight have pissed them off for quite a few years now.
When Pablo is a FA, he is going to get into fantastic shape and sign with the Dodgers. He will then go onto have a HOF career and OPS over 1.500 against the Giants for the rest of his career.
That's bullshit. Absolutely. I used to buy chemistry all the time from this dude downtown. All my friends did too.
