I prefer 5 Guys to In&Out...even though I grew up with In&Out. Burgers are similar quality, but 5 Guys has way, way, way, way better fries.
Best burger in LA IMO is Hawkins House of Burgers in Watts. Downside is its across from Nickerson Gardens, so you're constantly being hit up for money while you wait for your food.
Pretty sure they don't but I have heard of the place. My friend in Wisconsin tells me about it every time I mention In N Out.
This thread is incomplete without a mention of Krystal. Their enjoyment value is directly proportional to your BAC...much like tacos at Jack in the Box.
Another good place that should be in the discussion is Islands. Consistent, well-run, good food and good value no matter which one you go in to.
McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's. Carl's Jr has hit Auckland, not down my ways yet. Yeah, just the basics. There is a New Zealand chain started called Burger Fuel. Only had it once out-of-town but it was possibly my favorite burger ever. Expensive as shit, but was absolutely worth it. I had a "Bastard Burger" and a "Ringburner", fucking nice.
We used to just go to the burger joint near the house, but some $1.50 fries and then eat them with the home made.
the new think blue bbq at the ravine probably not bad, but a far cry from what darth brought to the lair last time :eating:
I'd rather Dodger Stadium work with one of the burger joints in LA (In N Out, Tommy's, Five Guys or The Habit) to bring their burgers to the stadium. No more Carl's Jr.
I used to live around the corner from The Apple Pan (Pico Blvd just east of Westwood Blvd). The Hickory Burger is legendary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Apple_Pan
