it's been kRapler's job to lose since day one imo all these other candidates/interviews serve only to give the appearance of due dilligence
The Black/Roberts combo, in whatever form, seems so much more qualified than Krapler. Probably why it won't be them. Maybe one of them, perhaps, as bench coach? IDK what the Gibson interview was all about...his physical problems aside, was he ever a "good" manager?
Considering we currently have an opening at manager, bench coach, and 1B coach, could be possible to hire multiple guys from this final list, although that might be up to the person chosen as manager.
Well I kinda wanted Martinez... kinda shocked he was cut from the 1st round of cuts. Kinda leaning Black now I think.
So if they hired Erstad... The coaching staff is... Jim Edmonds David Eckstein Rex Hudler Garret Anderson Macier Izturis Chuck Finley Jarrod Washburn Benji Molina ?
Erstad is out of the running, he apparently announced that he is going to be back coaching Nebraska next season.
According to some Nebraska guy on Twitter with like 100 followers, he said Erstad said at a charity event that he withdrew his name from consideration for the Dodgers manager job. Fine with me if true
it's either him or kapler guggenheim/nerds clearly don't value managers that highly an want someone in there they can control otherwise maddon would have gotten the call last year, and exactly why black has no shot don't care who they hire tbh, even gibson, ass long as they acquire/retain the proper players
I'd hire Bud Black of these three. He's been a manager and I don't want growing pains in a year we're going for it.
