yeah, and I think he was forced into that because of Avilan not being available. Sergio shouldn't be facing any lefties when it really matters.
Fucking such a frustrating game ugh Gotta tell myself to not worry about anything in April but god damn that was frustrating
Uh, so, Alex Wood is throwing 95 now? Command obviously was come/go tonight but yeah I think we need to see more Alex Wood starts
Fucking run already! It's like Billy Cosby slipping a pill into a drink and just watching them sleep. You've done the hard work, fucking go for it. Damn Dodgers. Run on this cock, worse than the playoffs last year.
Lost because the offense barely scratched out two runs over nine innings. Pen was very good for most part..........again. Really like how this pen is put together.
As annoying as all this Cub ball gargling is, if any Cub were to stick the dagger in I don't mind it being Rizzo. Anyone who tells cancer to fuck off is OK in my book.
Not only when we make the playoffs ( at that time of the season), but all year long. It really has been a struggle with this assemblage of DL dwellers. Everyone loves a bargain, but outside of Maeda, who has a very qualified ceiling, imo, most have been not so much of a great bargain. All the Wood, McCarthy, Hill, Ryu, Anderson types, in the end, are frustrating to keep in there for any length of time. Offering very little or no consistency. And something's amiss with all that approach when you have the highest payroll in baseball. It seems the formula almost works...Almost. But no cigar.
Absolutely. I want to see where the velocity will be when he gets stretched out, but pumping 94-95 with the other stuff he has should be interesting to watch. I'd like to see how well the breaking pitches will work in more normal baseball temperatures.
just compare our rotation to the cubs cause there is no comparison winners go the extra mile and sign a lester and a festerlackey pitcher when they are available patching together a bunch of guys w potential upside is not a championship formula
This literally makes me sick. Our players act like Lester is bad at holding runners on, when the reality is he seems to be holding runners on just fine. We look like a joke. Pisses me off even more knowing we have a manager who is supposedly a base running guru.
what can be worse than having a 3-0 count and bases loaded w no outs and not scoring? its bad comedy at this point can he get ball 4 and we somehow still fuck it up? also thought i was reading incorrectly but there is no game today i don't ever recall gay shit like that in a baseball series unless it was an act of god what is today championship circle jerk day in chi town?
Apparently lots of teams have a day off after there home opener in case the opener rains out. Idk if it's the first year they've done it but it's the first year I've noticed lots of teams from shitty weather cities doing it
Arrieta had a career ERA close to 6 when the Cubs acquired him, Kyle Hendricks had an ERA close to 4 in 2015 and was regarded as a back of the rotation starter. The Cubs put together a rotation that was at least 40% built on potential upside and their #5 pitcher was left off the postseason roster from being terrible. You have to be good to win a championship, but it also takes some luck.
Because I have a book on the topic, there's an 87.5% chance of scoring with bases loaded and no outs. I assume having a 3-0 count bumps that up above 90%. For a team expecting to make a championship run, not scoring in that situation is absolutely unacceptable.
Happens every year. We are only noticing it now since we usually play SF, AZ or SD the first couple of series. I'm actually surprised they didn't do it in CO.
There's also a lot of health luck involved. All the giants' championships are a good example. For a lot of teams, a few injured pitchers means they won't make the playoffs at all, so the teams that do make it often have a healthy rotation. I suppose we have been "lucky" to make it for a few years now in spite of injuries.
