    POTY worthy.

Sadly it would be par for the course if the commissioner's office doesn't address it in some way. I can't see them going as far as disciplinary action, but at least a statement or warning is more than warranted.

Any attempt at explanation yet from Machado's camp on why it's okay for Manny to show over-the-top emotion after a HR, but not okay for his opponents to do the same after a game-saving defensive gem?

he refused to be available after the game for the media, and with no locker room access no one got anything from him. Typical of Manny when he does something controversial, goes and hides and makes his teammates answer for him

^^^^^^^ Yeah, another aspect of why this guy is a force for disrespect for kids.
It may not matter though...these west coast or Texas games go on so late into the night, kids on the east coast probably don't see it that immature garbage behavior anyway.

    Typical, indeed.
To think I wanted the Dodgers to sign him so badly. Shame on me.
And that wasn't a terrible pitch from Kershaw he hit out. Whatever athletic excellence he has, and hehas plenty, is overshadowed by his sophomoric, uncontrolled and entitled acts on the field.
    He's a dirty player, too.

Last night was a game the Padres needed to steal. We are the better team (and I say that having watched plenty of series where we weren't the better team), and for the Padres to have a chance they need some breaks to go their way to steal a win or two. The Padres are going with their 2nd bullpen game in 3 days; meanwhile our second best pitcher this year, who also had 2 strong outings against the Padres, hasn't thrown a pitch yet this postseason... AND the Dodgers aren't even sure if that's who they want to pitch because they have MORE options.

I consider the Padres to be dangerous so nothing is over until it's over, but it's hard to see them climbing back in this. Especially against a team that hasn't dropped 3 straight since August of last year.

As pessimistic as I usually am, I really don’t think any of the teams left have close to the talent we do. The Yankees lineup is as good, but they legit have one SP. The Rays are good but their 6-9 is a joke. We’d have to really fuck shit up to lose a series to one of these remaining teams.

It's amazing how hypocritical Machado was, and you know the Dodgers celebration was tame compared to what the Padres were about to do had that ball cleared the fence. I think Machado sees Tatis as a little brother so he was acting extra protective and emotional. It is what it is, FWIW Machado and Brusdar seemed cool with each other after emotions settled - I don't think we can overstate how huge that play was, it may have been a series changer.

Bet that jumps to 67% if Kenley is removed from the roster.

I've always subscribed to the Barry Sanders school of thought - act like you've been there before. Now, I accept that the new trend, particularly among Latino players, is to pimp your big hits. But was Manny's HR really that big? It made a 4-1 game, 4-2... not like it flipped the lead or anything. Meanwhile, Bellinger's catch was a much more significant play, preventing a 4-3 lead from becoming a 4-5 deficit, and entirely swinging the momentum back to the Dodgers. I guess what I'm getting at is that Brusdar had more reason for celebration than Manny, so I'd really like to hear what the primadona's reason is for getting his feathers ruffled.

    Dustin May is starting tonight

no clue why to be honest. Thought Gonsolin was a clear #3 (he was starting game 3 in the WC series) but maybe somethings happened?

anywyas, picking between May/Gonsolin/Urias is a coin flip (Gonsolin best results, May best stuff, Urias somewhere in middle but most playoff experience) so I’ll just root for May and hope he’s got it. Let’s have the offense win us another one

Actually, maybe it’s May AND gonsolin todsy. May for 2-3, Gonsolin for a bulk, other relievers mixed in. I wouldn’t trust May more than twice through the order and actually would be scared of him more than once through the order, especially since lefties do well against him

something cool like May 2, Victor 1, Gonsolin 5, Brusdar 1 and you still have McGee, Baez, Kolarek, Flor for some fill in or if anyone messes up.

Urias tomorrow and a game 5 would be everyone anyways.

I’m really surprised they went May today over Gonsolin after how great he was for us all season. Another thing they could be thinking is May in the first, then Urias the rest of the way with Gonsolin G4 and May regular start G5. Though I really hate this new gamesmanship thing if that’s the route they’re going.
