Again, oh well. It's one bad guy or another bad guy. Just think Loney/Rivera are utterly useless. But go Sands! If Sands does well, then Loney/Rivera can go play goldfish with Uribe on the bench.

Yeah, Sands could come in and make Rivera/Loney totally obsolete. There could be some glorious DFA's on the horizon!

I think you are right. He and DBB had a meeting after the Dodgers picked up Victorino and while Gwynn understood his new role he wasn't happy. Wonder if Ned was trying to offer him up in any trades once he felt the Victorino deal would probably happen.

Loney is hitting in his usual second half way right now and Rivera is older and probably tired and is more expendable. Sands and Loney will split time and Sands will have opportunity to show if he can win the job outright.

Well we'll see if this causes problems with chemistry...it may have already. Vic's probably pressing a bit trying to prove he's the man for the job and might be the odd man out being an outsider taking a popular (in the clubhouse) Gwynn's job. Hopefully it will subside with winning.

    much ado about nothing IMO
I like Gwynn, but Sands is a better option -- whether in the lineup or coming off the bench
as for Victorino, I (for one) am glad he called Loney out
but presuming he had something to do with Gwynn getting cut is just that; a presumption...

Gwynn strikes out far too much. Irritating.

with victorino here, gwynn was useless. At least Rivera and sands can also play first. Sands will likely get a shot to platoon with loney, he is like aj Ellis. Patient but the hope is the hitting comes. I'm afraid I see a lot of loney on him. Wait wait wait

The Dodgers are creating a new team and if Sands is ready to fulfill expectations MY GOD our lineup. Can you imagine a 280-290 hitting Sands with Power behind Hanley?
