Joey Gallo is a laughing stock here in the NY area. A bench jockey that can't cut it. What a fucking comedown. Newspapers rag him every day. Huge failure this year...certainly not like the other deadlines. Wow...talk about sloppy seconds. Not even sloppy thirds. Gallo ? Wtf are they thinking?
I hope Friedman knows something that we don't, because on the surface it seems like a move born out of desperation. Which we shouldn't have - roster is still very solid without the big name acquisitions... although with Gallo I think it just got weaker.
Get the same guy who OK'd Jason Schmidt MRI back in the day. He's reachable, if available still. Big acquisition...the guy was flotsam. I'll chip in.
Well lets all remember the last tankee that couldnt cut it in NY.....Jeff Weaver....maybe there is a dim light at the end of the tunnel
i just look at the track record of the FO and obviously they see something they can fix doesn't sound like we gave up a whole lot although i have no idea who clayton beeter is
#15 approx on our prospect ranking. AA starting pitcher with a career 0-9 MILB record and ERA around 5.
I'm holding out hope that that is indeed the case. That said, my fear is the Davey factor. I can see this guy continuing to be shit, and instead of cutting ties, we'll get further comments from Roberts like, "We're going to keep using him as an integral part of the team - he's earned that." Roberts has shown that he places way to much value on a player's past success and salary level.
I realize I have a series of insanely negative posts but you have to realize that Roberts in the playoffs terrifies me. The stronger the roster, the better for my mental…
Lamb isn't long for this team in any way. Rios and Taylor are on their way back, Lamb will be gone, Outman back to OKC, and then there will be a problem somewhere trying to find a roster spot when the last of Taylor and Rios is back.
I will never question our FO when it comes to acquiring players who were once highly touted prospects, or have shown they can perform at a high level in the MLB. The Gallo trade isn't sexy at all, but we all know how well our coaching staff does with projects like this. I will hold judgment for now.
I'm not sure what Outman's long term projection is or isn't, but whatever it is, I don't think it'll have anything to do with Bellinger. Muncy, JT, and Trea can all be free agents this off-season, and if 2 or more of them leave, Chris Taylor could be playing infield, and Bellinger will have to be kept. Bellinger is going to determine Bellinger's fate, basically.
