    I'd love Gardenhire.

Most any competent manager is a step above Don.

Honestly, biggest problem we have on this team is there are a lot of guys, from top to bottom, who have nothing between their ears. They don't think, they don't figure it out. They don't make adjustments. We can't win that way. Too many free swingers. Puig is a hothead, so what do you do? You hit him. You make him have to prove himself, and he beats himself. That's why we don't win. Team needs to figure it out next year, because I can't stand another year of the Cardinals or Giants making the World Series because they understand what it takes to win while we keep putting ourselves in this position.

For a second there I thought for sure there was going to be a game 5. Then I got a text from a friend that read...damn, kershaw is really dealing today. My response, yeah he is but he could still blow it. That was in the 6th inning. Now generally that would be a stupid response and I was mainly just being a smart ass and preparing myself for the worst but knowing his history with this team in the postseason it wasn't really as bad as it sounded. And sure as shit he gives up a 3-run tater and eventually we lose the game. Last night it was kolten Wong, today matt Adams and game 1 was carpenter. All lefties who found a way to get a big hit and give their team a lead. Frustrating yet not surprising. Our offense shits the bed and DBB sits puig. I bet that sat well with the team/organization. If DBB isn't gone and our bullpen isnt vastly upgraded I may not watch a single pitch next year as to prevent these type of feelings that I've had for the past 26 seasons.

Another year and we get to see two teams I couldn't hate more playing for another NL pennant. It's fucking sickening. We won the NL west and the Giants, who benefitted from another wild card spot are still in. Division champs again....whoopty fucking doo!

Yeah, i mean no. Of course you can pick and choose this or that and games work out differently. It's a matter of perspective, but you're using an approach without much context. Yes scoring runs is a big deal. But shouldn't be as big of a deal when you have the best 1-2 pitching punch in the playoffs, with a guy that happens to be a cy young winner. So yes, we could have scored more runs, but the cardinals could have scored more runs as well. These games were not blowouts. They were not high scoring. They were low scoring games for both teams. Cards ended up winning and they scored 8 runs in 3 games. So i mean, they found a way to win even though their bats weren't on fire.

The fact is, if Kersh closes the deal in game one, we go up 1-0, and we saw how Zack was dialed in.

Going to St louis up 2-0, the cards would have had to beat Kersh and Greinke back to back(if they got past game 3) after they already lost to them twice.

It's not just numbers. I mean we can go into numbers for fun......you know......... They'd have to win 3 in a row. 2 in a row against 2 pitchers that would have just beat them etc etc, but t's more of a mental thing.

That game one win made the cardinals believe it was going to happen again. They did it last year. Different year. Different team. Different Kershaw.

    No, same old shit.

Dodgers played scared after that game. Just look how we came out in game one. Was that the same team the final 4 games in terms of confidence, attitude and heart that came out blazing in game one?

No it was a team playing not to lose.

Our team wasn't the best out there this entire series. Most of us already knew this team didn't have that killer instinct and they proved that once again this series. I'm no advocate of drilling players for the hell of it, but it was very necessary this series. If you don't understand why then you will never understand why. Bozo is a major reason why we lost. He showed time and time again that he's simply overmatched as a manager. We can't win with him. Hopefully management sees the same thing and they will fix the weak links and get us competent leadership.

I think when you realize that a lot of baseball playoff series' are based on luck, you're not driving yourself insane. Don't get me wrong, you still have to play sound baseball, but the sample size (especially in the divison series) is way too small. Cardinal lefties OPS'ing 1.200 against lefty pitching? GTFO. Baseball is probably the only sport where the most talented team doesn't win the title at a really high rate.

I will credit them though (even though I'm so fucking done with hearing that phrase) because every time we made a mistake, they capitalized. I can't stand Don and other Dodger players saying that we "have to give the Cardinals credit". I understand that they're a good club, but when's the last time you heard someone say that about us? I'm not in favor of blowing this team up, but something has to be done. Ownership isn't going to sit around forever and I doubt they'll sit well with being embarrassed like this.

And why didn't bozo challenge the pick off by CK? Gonzo was asking for it, the replays showed they nailed the runner. Why didn't he ask for the review?

What a shit way to end the season. Changes need to be made starting from the top down. Bye Ned. Bye Donnie. Not nice knowing you piece of shit bullpen!! I am not worried about Kershaw at all. Card's are the luckiest mother fucking team I've ever seen. What random white guy will win games for them next year?? Fuck the Cubans, let's sign all the white guys!!

We need a #4 starter and basically a whole new bullpen. Gardenhire could be a fit at manager. A healthier Kemp is going to be awesome next season. Hate to see the team go out this way but the ownership needs to do some nice things here and soon.

Came out of hibernation to say this shit would of hurt me worse this year if I had been able to see them play.

Personally, I think Gardenhire would have a stroke managing some of the egos we have.

Sounds pretty good Chris...if only. I'm thinking we are at the juncture of "anything is an improvement over what we've got".
Your scout friend hit the nail on the head with the "donnie is over his head" statement. That sounds so appropriate for what has gone on...but it should have been recognized.
Nice guy and all, no doubt. But just doesn't do what he needs to, when he needs to, and this last 4 games, although not totally his fault by any means, was a prime example.

yep. nobody likes the idea of Ozzie and his antics, but the fact remains that he knows how to manage a baseball game. and Gardenhire should just be an easy choice..for some other GM, that is..hopefully Logan White.

From you? yeah, profound shit from you all day long, definitely.
Odd how you are picking up and using my phrasing, though.
That's right....save it for the intelligensia...I guess only they can get your BB acumen and grasp it.
I would go on with you and your usual boring, stubborn, back and forth and match wits with you, but you're like the Dodger bullpen with that.

Not sure I want another American League manager with Gardenhire. That would be 4 in a row.

I think what matters most is having a competent manager for once. We don't need a hero, just a guy who won't make the same mistakes over and over again.
