That's probably the worst thing you can do. The Giants, like the Cardinals, have plenty of roided up white guys with nothing to lose just waiting to get called up.
Its not all about OBP. If you gonna hit 7th in the lineup your OBP can be what your AVG is as long as your SLG is over .450, which Kemps is. He is also hitting lots of doubles. If he can hit 35 HR and 35 doubles then he will be driving in lots of runs. His OBP matters not. Sure he is not a good defender, so put him in LF. Is he worse than CC or Slyke? Would you rather have Puig in the lineup or Kemp? Trayce could be in RF, Joc in CF and Kemp in LF and all of a sudden our offense just got a lot better. Thats a nice power boost. Its possible SD will take some of our bad contracts for Kemp. Wonder how Kemp would do at 1B?
This team is really starting to piss me off. Is the conversation really we need to bat Joc cleanup and we need to get Kemp back? I'm thinking of driving down to San Diego this weekend, but not to catch a game, to throw myself off the Coronado bridge. FFS.
Joc should bat cleanup. Seager should be at the 3 spot. And a guy who can drive in runs should be behind them in the 5, 6 and 7 slots. Kemp can still RBI. But no, i dont want Kemp back. He's just the most available player with that power. And might have finally learned some humility having to play for the Padres. Or maybe not.
Being .500 was a hoot when we were somehow in first place. Not too fucking funny anymore. :jumpcliff:
Nah, I don't hate the nerds as much as I just hate this team right now. I'll give these guys a couple more years to let their plan run it's course, but I'm gonna complain the whole time if we suck. There are a lot of people we can blame this current mess on, more than just the nerds.
When I went to sleep on the game last night, last thing I remember was darth on the nerd attack. Slept a few hours, but couldn't sleep all the way through the night, so I woke up and glanced at the forum and darth was STILL talkin about " nerds! " Not normal for a man to be at home laughing loud as hell in the wee hours, but there I was.
My initial thoughts...how's leading the division with a big ass cushion all year been working for us in the past few years? Maybe they'll have some urgency and carry that feeling with them into post season for once if they have a real battle?
Yeah, my nerds comment was tongue in cheek. The team just really sucks right now. Players can't hit. Pitchers can't pitch. Everyone but Clayton is essentially a 70/30 chance we lose. Just irritating.
