I feel like I know how this one's going to go, but I found myself thinking about it and I'm not sure I'd be upset if he succeeds somewhere else. And as a follow up, what about RDLR and Sands? I don't bring Webster as it's kinda hard to love a player we've never seen before, but RDLR and Sands have been around. Rooting for them, or hoping they fail?
Not really to be honest. This isn't a Broxton type situation ya kno? (Which is I guess the most comparable) Broxton gave us GREAT years (some heartbreak, but GREAT years) and at least produced for us. We'd seen his upside, and he left mostly cause of some lost mph and injury. Loney has never shown us a year of his "upside" or wtv.
good question, VRP hard to root against guys I'm used to rooting for still, I find myself almost wanting them to fail... perhaps to justify dealing them for instance, I've never rooted against Carlos Santana, but it still hurts to see him do well
Agreed. For me it's usually different by individual cases. I'll root for Eovaldi, because regardless of what happens it was the right trade at the time. I still always root for Russ because I think he got a raw deal here. I rooted against JD Drew because I hated how he left. Loney I honestly think I want to see play well. If he becomes a superstar I'll be a little bitter, but if he manages to find a way to maintain a productive MLB career, more power to him.
I hope Loney destroys in Boston. Then Boston signs him to a huge deal. Then after hitting .210 in April next season he has a career ending injuring in early May, after a huge collision at homeplate with Russell Martin. Russell Martin breaks both legs in the collision, but holds on to the ball and doesn't bitch about it later. VRP visits Martin in the hospital and signs both casts.
Yeah, I'm right there with you on individual cases VRP. For me, it's weird. I have disliked Loney and wanted him gone for so long. He has probably been my least favorite Dodger OF ALL TIME. However, for whatever reason, I'm not going to hope the guy struggles. I won't say that I'll check his stats everyday, but if he turns it around a bit, that would be cool. I'm really not the type of guy to hope another player fails...unless of course you play on that gay ass team up north.
Given Loney's age, I do hope he does well. If he were 26, it would be harder in that he could suddenly turn it around and make us look like fools for 10 years. I do hope he hits in Boston. Perhaps he will. I am rooting for RDR because I am enamored with the guy, However, I do not want him to become an ace in the way of Pedro. If he becomes a good number 3, I would be happy for him.
Of course I am rooting and hoping they all do well. With all of the evil in the world why would I wish harm on someone who never did anything to me and seems like a decent respectful human being? Enough hate already without jumping on a hateful bandwagon especially over a game.
Loney no. Do his popups to left have a chance to hit the monster? Only way that fucker will ever hit. Not since Russell Jenna Martin have I wanted a player gone so much from our team. I would wish Juan Uribe more luck. Thanks for the GS against the Cubs and hitting Holliday in the balls though buddeh. Sands I hope becomes a solid major leaguer. And I hope RDLR does good, just not Pedro good.
