    Sports writers disapoint me with their lack of putting two and two together. By including Josh Becket in the trade we virtually guaranteed that MLB would approve the deal and the dollar amounts. Beckett needed to be out of Boston ASAP and if he turned this down he was creating a nightmare to have to deal with there and for MLB.

    We need a second baseman, unless the Mexican Miracle Man, Cruz is for real. I'd love to see him at 2b, if he can hit. I believe absolutely, he can hit on Ellis' level....actually better. There is zero wrong with his glove.
    BTW, my kid had an interesting thought: with all these beau coup players now, this real-ass hitting juggernaut, what will happen to DBB if they just go to sleep and punk out? I mean, they have to figure he can win with this lineup...right?

    I don't think people yet understand the economics of the Dodgers because once 'Big Markets' formed, the Dodgers were in the wrong hands. Bottom line is L.A is a bigger market than every other market sans New York. The league, in the big market era, has never had to deal with Los Angeles.

    The Dodgers aren't screwing themselves. If they lose, they lose. They are trying to win a championship at the same time they try to rebuild the organization to the ground up. Whether they win or not, they can afford to try to have their cake and eat it to.

    Anybody know the ZiPS projection of WAR on Gonzalez and Crawford over the next 5 years?

    I'd guess Gonzalez would average around 4.0-4.5 WAR over the next 5 years
