Sports writers are not financial people and as I said before I am waiting for th financial folks to clue them in. The Dodgers are owned like probably no other sports team is owned and Bud is dreading them finding out. Hmmm the Illinois insurance regulators may be hoping it doesn't get widely discussed either.

Not sure about Beckett but most of these guys know Kemp and have known him for a few years. You almost never hear other players saying they don't like Kemp, CK DBB or the coaches. Lopes had issues as a manager years ago but is now a legend as a first base coach. Watching Hanley he is like a little kid and suddenly he is on the back burner as just another talented player with no burdens to carry the team. The Dodger with the biggest target on his back is Kemp and he is also the most hardened and clearly knows it is his town to be ruled by his boyz and not him. He is the first to welcome new players. When hurt he was with the team and pulling all the way. During the game the team is on the railing and Hanley is like locked in watching the field. When he makes an out he comes back to the dugout and talks to someone else about his swing. Probably the biggest baseball star still active in the game as a player or coach is DBB and he understands humility and team work as much as anyone. Lopes has a big foot and doesn't hesitate to use it in private. The coaches and players interact in the dugout during games and Honeycutt talks to the hitters and the pitchers talk to Hanson. Hillman is a marvelous bench coach and winning cures all. How the Hell could a pitcher not be focused and think they can win every game now. They have offense and defense behind them. Hell Kemp can thrive now as a singles hitter. Cruz becomes a beast in this line up because he and AJ are suppose to be the breathers for a pitcher. Kershaw can get in anyones face and if they challenge him he will kick the butt physically. Why do I say that because I think it is fair to assume that if you F with CK Kemp will kick your butt and who would you rather take a licking from? Matt got thrown out of the game in Pittsburg not because of the call against him but because of the call against Dre. Dre is grinning with a grin he can't get rid of these days. Hell Hanley is the leader of the infield. Hanley! They have the Magic Man and what athlete is not going to respect him. Stan knows all of the agents real well and you know agents are trying to get their players to LA and will keep them on a short leash. Just wait til basketball season and the overlap between teams begin. The Angels? May they prosper and win and may we all start to live for the Freeway World Series every year. Now all LA needs is a classic football team and that may be soon. Oh yeah and

LA could well be the sports capital of the world soon. Yes a certain insurance company will prosper like all hell in the process.

The 125 million in this link is now 160 million as of March 12 and growing and growing.

Or if you want to compete against for talent. You got that baseball! Not millons but billions as the owners said in their press conference we haven't discussed a spending limit.

Sports writers need to do their homework and get a clue about who is who and what is going on and not act surprise when we spend a few hundred million and say next. I guess if Goldman Sachs had bought he team folks might have understood more clearly the beast Bud has unleashed.

So now the sports nation is astonished by what has happened. Captivated so to speak. Focused on money and where is it coming from. How much is there to spend. Is there any limit. Who is this Mark Walters guy and what does he do for a living. Will the sports buzz now become about Guggenheim and who they are? Walters can only hope so the free advertisement is worth millions. As the buy more smaller companies their spread just grows. It is now already formidable.

What other sports team owner has as much in the way of working capital under management and that wide a reach of domestic and global operations. It is private company. No shareholders to answer to. No earnings per share to worry about. No shareholder meetings to need to explain why. Just the MLB commissioners office and the Illinois insurance commissioner.

So, is it going to be awkward at all between Beckett and Hanley?

Maybe it was a good thing we were swept by the Giants-- they could have blocked A-Gon on the waiver wire.

Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry true and it may come back to haunt them for a long time. May haunt the Braves and Cards for sure who we would have been ahead of.

Shouldn't be. They never played together. They were each on the other side and part of the same trade that brought Hanley to the Fish and Beckett to Boston. Since they played in different leagues they are probably just getting to know each other and discussing how they have both ended up in Dodger Blue.

not to mention it puts a little chip on our shoulders
I still give credit where credit's due -- best I've seen Lincecum look in two years, and Cain is Cain
Bungardner, well yeah we coulda/shoulda/woulda got to him
but with a revamped 3-4-5-6 of (you choose the order) Kemp/Adrian/Hanley/Ethier, no pitcher should feel safe
when a perennial Dodger hater like Curt Schilling anoints us as WS favorite...
we still have to go out on the field and prove it, but the future (immediate and beyond) looks a lot better than it did just after getting swept. :irish::woot::whack:
