    muncy, on jt leaving…
    • “That one hurt. All of those guys leaving hurt, obviously. It’s just, you spend every day with these guys and you develop such relationships with them. And even Trea [Turner], only having been with us for the year and a half that he was, those guys leaving, it really hurts. But with JT, man, that’s a really tough one. That’s his clubhouse. That was his clubhouse. He controlled everything. There’s so many little things that JT brought to the team that no one even knows about. Just little things as simple as, every year we have a group chat with all the players, JT is the guy that sets all that up. He’s the one that’s figuring out who’s getting called up, who’s getting sent down, he’s changing out the numbers. And that’s not to say that not anybody can do that, but he took it upon himself to do that, because that’s the kind of the leader he was. Every time we flew into a city, JT is setting up a team dinner at a restaurant for everybody … and I know that JT always focused on that because if the whole team is going out and doing that, we’re creating such a brotherhood that it’s easier to play for each other when you just have those kind of relationships. And that was something that JT brought to the team, and there’s countless other things that he would do that people don’t know about. And so not having him, that one’s really going to hurt.”

Obviously Kershaw is the longest tenured Dodger, but the departure of JT pretty much ends the most recent distinctive era of Dodger baseball.

    An era of missed opportunities.
    An era of what-ifs.
An era of locker room champagne celebrations for being 2nd through 8th best.
    An era of Davey explanations.
An era of accepting mediocrity from the field manager in the name of diversity.

    An era of disappointment.

Sad to say, but even McCourt gave us more interesting offseasons than this one.

RIP Capt Sal Bando. He was in the middle of the one of my favorite moments in Dodger history. Even better I got to see it person.

remember watching that throw live like it was yesterday
wasn’t at that game, but did get to go with my dad to the one game they won

to this day, the loudest roar i’ve ever heard at a dodger game
i remember the ump ringing washington up emphatically
    still gives me goosebumps

Was there in person for that one, too. Only two WS games I've ever attended.

Looks like the Dodgers made some moves, per the transaction log, including a couple guys with big league time: - signed former Nats reliever Wander Suero to a minors deal - signed ex-Marlins/Mets RHP Jordan Yamamoto to a minors deal.

My like is for the Conan gif, not the tweet.

The story of this offseason. Every week there seems to be an announcement of another minor league acquisition. Yippee.

We're going into the season with Mookie, FF, Will... and a bunch of question marks. Yes Muncy has potential to return to his pre-'22 numbers, but until it happens, he's an unknown. Same for CT. Can Lux finally put it all together for a full year? Will Vargas make the leap this year after he couldn't last season (albeit in limited opportunity)? Can Trayce produce as an every day starter, or is his best role as a bench bat? Does JD have anything left in the tank?

I made the post a few days ago in the opening day lineup predictions thread and joked about another quick exit from the playoffs, but if I were being completely honest, I have this team on the outside of the postseason looking in. The competition simply all improved too much. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Same reason that Schilling doesn't. The liberal media is judging them on their political beliefs rather than their contributions to the game of baseball.
