I think it is funny how all of a sudden, Bryce Harper is being very vocal about how much he loves Washington and now we are hearing reports that he doesn't really want to leave. He may not have the luxurious options that he thought he had coming entering this season. Does he really want to go to a potential rebuilding team? Fuck, if those are the options, I'd stay right there in Washington and pair up in that OF with Robles and Soto for one more year before going to 1B in 2020. This offseason is going to be interesting. Reports are that the Cubs owner could be wary to spend money this year, the Yankees may get desperate and cause a potential logjam down the road(hard to see at this point), the Dodgers COULD go after him if they fall short again, but great options are looking thin. One scary thing that could pop up... the Astros have a lot of money coming off the books this year and next. They need to lock up Correa and Springer soon, but they may still have the funds to go after Harper. I know the Phillies are a sexy pick, but man that collapse at the end of the season was brutal, paired with expensive vets inked to multi-year deals and being generally underwhelming, I just don't see how they are going to suddenly turn into something special after adding Harper and not at least a couple other bats(and fucking gloves for the matter, sheesh).

 

I think they should trade Bellinger if they sign Harper and bring back Manny.

I’m arguing with someone online about why Grandal absolutely will get the QO and why him accepting it would be great for the Dodgers and not a chance in hell would it happen, but.... in terms of WAR Grandal had the second highest WAR among catchers while putting up the best frame rate. Dude is gonna get paid.
