Do we get an extra year from Seager before FA? Or is this cheap year just lost?

No extra year. Players accrue service time while on the DL.

I have another question though: I just noticed Seager is making barely league minimum... Was he not a Super-2? Are Super-2's no longer a thing?

I heard on one of the pregame shows last week that Jansen is just now getting to where he should have been out of Spring Training. They said something like the training staff tried a new ST routine on him this year because he pitched so much in the post season last year. It sounds like everyone is admitting that it backfired and they will go back to the regular ST routine next year. I am hopeful that the Jansen of old is back.

I doubt he is that pissed.....he has to know that is just the way the game works. He works for cheap now and is paid way over market value when he is old.....its a broken system but that is just the way it works. Come on Trout just started getting paid 2 years ago after getting paid next to nothing for the first 4 years of his HOF career.

    Payrolls have always been obtuse.
You just used to be a kid and didn't care and now you are an old fart and care too much about things you shouldn't.
Kids know better than to care about things that they have no control over.
Those that don't end up crying a lot as children.
And even more when they get old.
You gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em.

Yeah, kids must be worried about some shit these days...considering the mass murders going on all over the US and of course the random suicides caused by bullying in school and the internet.
I'd say it is at a frenzy level, in fact.

Koehler, when asked if he would be back before the All-Star Break...

    “It’s possible. But I also wouldn’t be shocked if I wasn’t.”

    Those aren't kids then.
If a kid is 17 and is sent to Normandy and sees death everywhere is he still a kid?
If a kid murders schoolmates at 15 and is being tried as an adult is he still a kid?
If a kid gets raped at 13 and is now facing pregnancy is she still a kid?
If a kid is made to sing and dance for money at 11 to help support his family is he still a kid?
Everyone wants to be an adult, but it is much better to be a kid.
Our world kills kids very very early.
And turns them into something that is an abomination.
    Adolescents. Adult-ish.
Or what they used to call a faggot.
Which means a gofer. Someone only good for fetching a bundle of sticks for the fire.
Being a faggot gets you to eventually be burnt up painfully. Like fuel.
You flame out, you get burned out.
And instead of being an adult or a kid you end up a snowflake or a fascist.
Or you run to the hills forsake the world and become a tomato growing farmer.

Stewart has been sent back down and Valera has probably 2 days with the big club before Kershaw returns. As for Stewart, that is probably it as a starter in the bigs for him for a while. I fully believe that the way the club handled him last year derailed the career of what was a promising middle of the rotation pitcher. He is still doing his thing in AAA when he starts, but it is not translating at all when he is up with the MLB club. Either that is a sign that his stuff is just not good enough(his command/control has taken a dramatic step back) right now, he has lost confidence in himself at that level, or his shoulder injury was more serious than let on. I say keep him down in AAA for about 10 starts and see where he is at before considering another shot in a starting role. Maybe look to Santana to potentially fill in if a start or two is needed before Hill returns. Personally feel that once/if the club starts to get healthy in the rotation department, a transition back to the pen for the stretch run would be best for Stewart.

lol RUBE'd lol, i got another fish!

I did not get it from CK, in fact I am not even aware of the urban legend. I got it from my history classes.
I would concentrate on the wrong things obviously.

Faggot is a bundle of sticks as you already know. Like the symbol for fascism.
Soldiers used to send the most useless of the bunch to fetch firewood to warm up the camp/cook food.
He was the camp sissy and was usually a burden in battle and in training.
Having to haul him around was similar to how he had to haul around a pile of wood.
He would have to remove his belt to wrap around the sticks.
Without his belt on his pants would hang off a bit because he was usually the weakest one physically due to being a slacker.
This chain continues as to how the town slacker becomes similar to having to drag your wife around a battle or a campsite or something else where manly virtue is extolled.

Nah, kids today have shit to deal with that is grotesque and way more heavy than kids in the past, and bombardment from multi media sources is a huge reason why. You slugged it out for 22 years, but these kids don't have that experience behind them to soldier through. Imo,kids now have it way tougher. And most come from homes that both parents have to work...if there are two parents.
Shit, all I had to worry about was when I was getting laid next, and getting killed in Viet Nam...
    Child's play, man.

What couples have to pay in NJ for proximity to Manhattan ( 15 minutes by subway, once you get to the station) in places like Hoboken, Jersey City, Union City (where I grew up), would make your head spin. Incredible $.
Forget about living in Manhattan itself...you'd have to be an injured pitcher on the Dodgers to handle that shit, boyo.

The bad guys in WW2 were the Nazis but you know who was the worst?
    The Nazi Youth.
Hitler was a hipster tryhard wanting to impress the youth with his high fashion uniforms, trendy moustache, Ancient Alien "spiritual" bull shit, and viking opera music.
All the kind of shit horrible douchebag hipster Hitler Youth would be into over in 1930's Bavaria.
I am not saying that millennials are like the Hitler Youth.... but the future has a trend of moving in quick bursts of speed.
You never know how one thing will turn into something else with just the right catalyst.

Like you say, wrong interpretation..!I wouldn't wave off your.opinion...too much respect for you.
It's just while reading it, I didn't get the feeling it was delving into what today's kids deal with, as much as what you deal/dealt with. Or adults had to in their childhood. I just felt we were discussing apples and oranges...well maybe more like tangerines and oranges.

Sounds like Dennis Santana is getting the call. He tweeted early this morning, “So how do you get from Nashville to LA? Asking for a friend “. He is scheduled to start for OKC tonight so this could all be if he is needed for long relief.

Dennis Santana is on a plane currently headed for LA. Guessing this is a short call up and I really hope they don't fuck with him the way they did Brock since we are in a weird spot in the rotation for a starter to get recalled.
