To be honest, we should have lost that game 8-3. How the Cubs only scored 3 runs in the first 9 innings is beyond me.

Yup. Sometimes you have to do things that one guy won't like. Unfortunately, I think that if we demote Javy, it'll effect him horribly and he'll be even worse. But you can't have a guy up there throwing nothing but fastballs and expect him to get by because he "throws hard". He's not trustworthy in the 9th. He walks way too much. Last year he was respectable. This is not last year. Enough with the "baptism by fire" bullshit and give Kenley the job. Javy isn't a closer.

Thing is, he can't really get any worse at this point. Blowing save after save is about as bad as it gets for a "closer"

    ^ You have a point.

I think two other things to consider:
    1) constantly blowing saves can't be good for Guerra's confidence
    2) if demoting Guerra has that big of a psychological effect on him, then do we really want to have [another] closer that is so mentally fragile?

Great point. Broxton 2.0 is not what this team needs.

With a heavy accompaniment from our lineup, if Kemp-less or he's in a down time.

You know what I'd love to see today? The Dodgers showing up. Every time we play an NL West team, they always play us hard. The Padres made it their mission to go out and destroy us even though they were a below .500 team at certain points over the years. We never do that. We play them like they're just some other team. Show some fucking fire for once!

The problem with Jamey Wright is that he's supposed to be a team's 7th best reliever, not 3rd. Jamey Wright is fine to pitch a few innings a week, he should not be pitching the 10th and 11th of tie games, like he did yesterday, or the bottom of the 8th and 9th, like he did Wednesday.

Yeah you hate to dramatize a home trip in May but the next four series we play every other NL West team.. 10 games. It can show us a lot really

Let's just please beat the fuck out of the Giants, would be a great Opening home week for new owners.

I blame Collins and Psycho yesterday for that loss, they kept harping on the fact that the Cubs weren't hitting with runners on for at least an hour! They also kept saying that in every inning the Cubs got a runner on with 1 out and sure enough they did in the last inning. Then to top it off Psycho says there is a huge gap in right center and next pitch of course right center, great throw by Mark on that play by the way. On the players side Javy Javy Javy! Against the 2 left handed hitters he threw them a pitch low and inside which is their wheel house and they burned him. The previous batter he as able to get him out with high cheese and then started nibbling once again. He's spooked I do believe.

The only 2 bight spots were Harang and Rivera, what a miserable day!!!

PS Can you tell I am superstitious? :D
