i know i'm alone when i say i don't want Ohtani i absolutely respect the talent and how once in a generation his talent is its like having jewelry w a beautiful diamond but its so big its uncomfortable everyone wants to see it but the person wearing it feels like a freak as good as he is its kind of like a circus act i'd rather have Trea and another reasonable star for what Shohei is going to cost long term contract and injuries sure seem to be a part of the equation idk
not alone at all same reason i didn’t want soto the cost of prospects/players is way too high would rather go after a free agent or two and of course re-sign trea imo a lot more sensible to throw money at a free agent than it is to trade multiple proven and/or prospective commodities for just one guy
So ... within my lifetime, I'll have seen these abominations happen to baseball ... NL with a DH Plate blocking outlawed Take out slides outlawed Four finger intentional walks Armored hitters permitted Knockdown pitches abolished Extra inning auto runners employed Pitch counts overvalued Gay themed games Bondo taking Aaron's HR crown And God knows what's next. Yet, I 100% support the removal of human umpires. These clowns ruin baseball. Yet THAT change will come last after all these other grotesque changes. Go figure.
Every now and then I think about the Yordan Alvarez for Josh Fields trade Imagine 25 yo Yordan Alvarez on this team hitting #3 or 4 Fuck Josh Fields
Updates on Bazooka and Treinen....... Aug. 6: RHPs Blake Treinen, Brusdar Graterol throw sim games Treinen threw an inning on Aug. 6 at Dodger Stadium, his second simulated game over the last week as he works his way back from right shoulder inflammation. Treinen’s injury has been a mysterious one, but he appears to be making significant progress. He is still hesitant to provide any update on when he’ll be back with the Dodgers. Manager Dave Roberts did say, however, that Treinen is getting closer to going on a rehab assignment. Graterol threw an inning during a simulated game. He will throw another simulated game within a few days and continues to recover well.
That really hurts. I hope it wasn't due to overuse. Seemed recently he was pitching almost every day.
Never fails. Fatasses like Moronta never hit the DL, but Treinen, Kershaw, and now Almonte look like Greek statues but can't stay healthy.
think maybe the way things are going they may be erring on the side of caution and giving some guys extra time off in the dog days at least that's what i'm hoping cause losing Hudson hurt and Almonte is just a key piece of that bp
August has so far featured a huge seven game stretch against the Giants and Padres. How did we sweep both series? Great pitching, both starters and relievers, paired with these hot bats: OPS 1.189 Muncy 1.066 Bellinger 1.051 Betts 1.032 Smith .944 Outman .759 Lux .722 Turner .713 Freeman .400 Gallo Man, if Cody and Max can continue this resurgence for the rest of the season, just imagine. Looking at post-ASG OPS, Thompson is at .992 over 41 ABs. So why does Gallo (6 K's in 10 ABs) start over him?
i guess they want to see if they can get his power rolling but i'm w you Thompson is paying the price and he is/was in a zone get Gallo some ab's but keep Trayce fresh and ballin like he has been Max and Lody are really starting to swing the bat and i think Max is about ready to explode
Gallo is a waste of a roster spot. I get that we can afford to mess around with the lineup due to the huge divisional lead but I hate that he's stealing ABs from way more deserving players. I watched a lot of Yankees baseball(yuck) this season and the guy is completely done between the ears.
These tweets make my heart warm @BillSimmons ·17h The Mookie trade is the worst Boston trade of my lifetime - in any sport. It was an unconscionable catastrophe of a trade when it happened and now in Aug 2022 it’s somehow even worse. They got 12 cents on the dollar. It’s a fucking apocalypse. The owners should apologize weekly. @Jared_Carrabis Aug 6 Mookie’s a completely different dude in LA. He was never this loose in Boston. Pains me to say it, but he seems way happier there. Fuck the Red Sox and their fans. I hope this trade haunts them forever.
The Gallo thing on the surface makes no sense to me. It didn't a week ago and is even more perplexing now. It almost seems like we did it as a favor to the Yankees, taking a headache off their hands. I keep hoping that management knows something we don't and it will soon become apparent, but with every passing game I lose more faith on that. I'd rather that guys like Thompson, Outman, and Vargas play more to see if they'd be worth including on the postseason roster, or at a minimum CT3 who may strike out as often but adds value in numerous other ways.
