Should have been a sweep but a 4-2 week against the SFaGs and the Cubs?! Damn skippy I'm wit it. And now hopefully the Cubs takes it out on the SFaGs next week.
I guess when you're 14 games ahead, any opportunity that presents itself to rest your pitchers on a close game, and be damned with the results, good or bad, may explain the Maddon oddities on the series. When someone is called genius, you have to wonder... Don't really care what this guy who looks like the Commodore in " Popeye" does, as long as it doesn't work, which is sort of what happened...although relooking at them, taking Hamels out did stop us scoring any more ( and we were hitting him well), and only a, as Vin said, "close as an eyelash" play got the W for us today. For once, Lady Luck on our side...
Because they're LA fans and they've seen this shit before? I watched the last 2 innings at a Pinehurst watering hole and all I can say is ...WHEW! Everyone was swinging at shit and watching called 3rd strikes down the pipe. That win was lucky as fuck and I'm DAMN glad.
Kenley went form zero to hero. Hopefully he's awake and thinking about taking better care of his Mama after his next deal?
Staying 2 up after playing the Cubs while the Giants play the Braves is a huge fucking win. Props to Stewart and Urias for two awesome starts.
Excellent performance by Brock Stewart he really concentrated on having a velocity difference between the fastball and breaking ball. It was a playoff atmosphere in the stadium even though it wasn't as full as it should have been. Corey was amazing in the field and on the bases, that play late in the game was exciting as hell. Great win now let's hope they can carry this momentum to the 1st game of the Colorado series, this team has so much trouble in this situation. Good news is that the Rockies are coming from Washington so maybe they'll be listless.
great game brock looked solid, which was a pleasant surprise kinda surprised he got yanked after 80 pitches but whatev really happy with the way kenley bounced back after game 1
Its nice that we are getting such top production from Brock. We keep getting these guys that we werent relying on come in and do great. His first game was shit but last game when he came in to help after Anderson shit the bed and now this game have shown he can pitch up here. So far next year we have what looks like a solid rotation. Kershaw, Urias, Maeda, JDL, Brock Then you have Strippling and Wood in case Brock doesnt make it. The older guys like McCarthy, Anderson, and Kazmir can all go fly a kite on a rainy day. Although resigning Hill would be a good idea too. Then theres bad rib Montas who would have to become a reliever at that point.
Swing-and-miss stuff. Guy had some crazy movement today. Fastball sitting on 94-95, off speed for strikes. Really was a complete performance. One I hope he can replicate, because he was good. He probably could have done the unthinkable for a Dodger starter, gone six! Maybe next time.
Yeah, still in first the same amount of games before this dangerous series started, and getting them off the schedule, is a good thing, for sure. Now, gotta keep it up going to the loony bin to play.
