Wonder if they'll reward papa Utley with a ring. He helped raise Corey and legend Kike

Doesn't Utley work in the Front Office? Or did that never happen?

Couldn't tell you, man. But Utley would make the short list for me..guys from the past that are linked to the present success, that should at least be considered for rings. Very short list

As far as I can tell, Dave Roberts is nothing special, although big credit to him and the team for having a great pitching plan in Games 5 and 6 of the WS. The most important thing in baseball are the players, so if the players like him I'm not going to argue.

We've talked about Utley before, that's an idea I support.

I've also wondered if Justin Turner has any aspirations to manage. A SoCal guy. He's had his ups and downs in MLB, so he can relate with the superstars as well as the fringe players. A team leader. Well respected. And apparently has a little bit of a "Fuck you" attitude. Sign JT to a 2-year deal as a 3B/Util/Assist-bench coach. Then after that, if it's a fit, give him one year officially under Roberts. And in 2024 when Roberts' contract is up, and he's fresh off of 4 straight WS championships, Roberts can go travel with Tricia and we could usher in the JT era.

im probably the biggest annoyingly apologist of him on here, but it’s easy to take the next level with Dave in: even going away from the on the field moves (which worked more often than didn’t), a team that consistently under him puts up elite regular seasons, and having a set of players that buy into having to do anything that’s asked of them is huge. Look around the league, you had the Rays openly criticize their manager multiple times! Yankees openly criticizing their manager, white Sox, and many more. Wtv he does, he’s able to get his players to understand that they’re gonna be benched but still be needed. We hardly ever have players complain about role or the manager and we have TON of players who could easily whine for more playing time but never do. Pitchers who go to bullpen who could start, players who get moved around when they could be everyday players. The reason we’re great is cause we can move them around, but other managers aren’t able to get their players to do that. Maybe and probabky not just him, maybe the FO is a big part but still. Like you said, the biggest thing is having the team be cohesive and have chemistry and they truly do. I don’t think that’s 100% a manager but it’s something. (I will note: It does lead to bad handling of kenley/Kershaw but ultimately, Kenley didn’t have the majority of save opportunities and Kershaw finally got kid gloves on him)

I don’t care enough about him to say he’s the best in the game, but I do think that a team not floundering after being down 2-0, 1-3, and then after game 4 of the World Series... all I know is if they were pathetic after that it’d get attributed to him so whether it’s 1% or 10% credit, he deserves some of it. Maybe I’m jsut on a high after this victory, where I can even be happy at Pollock and Baez getting a ring, but I guess I just think it was overall a validation on him, for better or worse

The players don't say anything about Dave cuz they're afraid of being called racist.

Julio learned how to be effective with multiple arm slots from Hill, IIRC. Believe the same was true with Kersh

    Honrary ring for Rich Hill?

By 2048 Matt Beaty will have 8 WS rings, after playing his entire career with the Dodgers. The Dodgers just keep extending him on 1-year, $700k deals because he hit a walkoff HR once, or at least I think he did.

Dodgers WS rings will be so plentiful by 2048 that VRP wins the auction for $17. The auction price will include a photo-op with Beaty, of which VRP will decline.

Probably helps a bunch if you can gun it in there @ 97+

Would like to see where it leads Julio in the future. If its to more rings..Rich Hill will be on line 1

Roberts biggest problem was the pitching moves and he exorcised those demons this year... in a way. He definitely made the same old mistakes a couple of times, but he also went with the situation for basically the first time ever and it worked. MLB radio had some player on that said the issue he has with today's games are that guys are becoming managers WAY TOO soon. He mentioned that the Dodgers had to deal with the growing pains of a Roberts and that likely cost them a championship more by having to wait for him to figure shit out. He finally did it in a way this year and the club won. Once a coach can recognize their mistakes, they can take a leap if they address it. IF Roberts now understands that he can't go to Baez and Jansen the way he has where they have constantly failed, and starts to do what he did in Games 7, 5 and 6, then we legit have a great coach on our hands. You can't look back and point any fingers at Roberts beyond the pitcher management issues. Cry about lineups, but that was done with the FO advice and truthfully for most of the cases they were working with what they had. Watching Cash this year reminded me SOOOO much or Roberts in 17 and 18. He had his guys that did it for him in the regular season and he kept going to them though they weren't succeeding, then the ultimate when he pulled a pitcher that was cruising cause "the script told me so." I have called for Roberts head probably in the hundreds of times. His players love him, the FO does as well and so do the people that meet him... the only reason that I didn't was his bp management likely cost us 1 championship and a 4th WS appearance. Let us hope that the impossible happened and that this was the event where he figured it all out.

They sell expensive ones but also give out replicas for the fans the year after which I’d want just to have along with my bobble heads

I’m not one to rewatch full games, but I’m thinking of turning on Game 7 of the NLCS.
