Like I said, if they are winning and the rotation is healthy, I don't see him up until later in the season. It is more than just, "he's our 3rd best pitcher". If the Dodgers are going to make a deep run again, they are going to need him to be as strong as possible. If that means keeping him down in MiLB longer than most teams would do, I could see that. Yes he was as good as advertised last season, but he was also still very raw. Implementing what he learned last season is important and his command/control still has a good bit of work as does his secondary stuff. Teams fouled off a ton of pitches from him and having him address that in AAA so he can work deeper into games is important for his development and important for the club going forward.

Hypothetical... if Kershaw and Hill are the same great pitchers as last season + Maeda finding some middle ground between 1st half and second half him, then the club has pitchers whose production should be just fine in the 4th-5th spot. Honestly, if Wood is what he was last season, that's gonna be a HUGE boost as he looked like the #2 he used to be. That still leaves Kazmir, McCarthy, Ryu, Stripling and Stewart as guys they likely prefer in that 5 spot. Granted everyone can get hurt again, making this null, but at the least there are going to be 7 guys at least that they give first dibs to to fill out the rotation.

Just because he is the 3rd best pitcher on the roster now, does not mean that the club needs him out the gate, nor is it the best thing necessarily for him and could even be detrimental to the organization long-term. Honestly his arb clock could have a lot to do with it. Someone made a great point about Urias last year. Yes, you are calling up a good pitcher now who is young and still could be one of the better pitchers in the league on pure stuff alone. By bringing him up sooner, what you are doing is making him a free agent sooner as well. This is the time that would usually be vital for development for a young pitcher in MiLB, instead you are doing that at the big league level now. Yes his stuff is still good, but you are potentially substituting a year of him being merely good now for a year when he could be potentially great later.

This roster as currently constructed without him should be VERY good and win the division if most of it stays healthy. If the club plays up to expectations, I would so much rather have him as reinforcement later in the season and for maybe an extra season down the road instead of something we need immediately. If it is the start of May and we are all screaming for Urias, then something has gone very wrong with the rotation, again.

LOL, Lex and his plan to have prime, ocean front property. The guy is really just a realestate mogul, but ultimately the problem with our plan. Since Metropolis, USA is on your side (I assume?) a split would mean you are in control of Superman, and thus wouldn't care about stopping Lex Luthor from putting us in the ocean. Heck, you might even encourage it.

But in a Superman-less world we would take the western halves of Oregon and Washington, you guys can keep the east sides. We would invade and take over Baja Mexico because that is prime for ocean-front condos, but the rest of Mexico we are still undecided. For the name we would have 4th graders nominate names and vote on it. We'd probably go with something ironic like Essos and start genetic experiments to create dragons.

    OH GOD NO
Sergio Romo is down to two teams...An undisclosed team...and the Dodgers. I do not want him as he is purely a ROOGY now. Yes, he is death on RH batters, but LH fucking CRUSH him.

Fuck him and not for how effective or ineffective he is against RH or LH.

He's a fucking dick with a severe Giant stench.

I know.......he couldn't be any more repulsive than Brian Wilson. Here's hoping we don't have to find out.

Might have to do with Hanley being one of the better RH batters in the game at the time. Lifetime .538 OPS for RH against him. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

The team is still interested in bringing Blanton back as well. Not sure if it is a one or the other thing or if Romo would be on a MiLB deal. Would not hate a Blanton 1 year deal and a Romo MiLB deal. That would be just fine with me.

Absolutely...he signs, we'll be looking at his ugly hunchback troll ass from opening day. Fucking unbelievable.
And if he smiles if he lifted by Dave like he did with Bochy, my hatred will soar like an eagle.

It sounds like the Dodgers are in on Romo, Blanton and Blevins. Looking like the first two are plans A&B while Blevins is more of a plan C since the pen is loaded with LHP depth. Avilan is out of options so if everyone performs up to abilities, he'd be the worst one of the group(though very good still) and would need a spot which could cost Lib's a spot for now. Would guess they are still in on Blevins if he ends up taking a below market deal or something as it would seem like he's a marginal upgrade from what the club has.
