Yup, there isn't another place I can see that will even sniff the money Cano will be looking for. Yanks are absolutely loving the Dodgers signing Guerrero. Watch the Angels sign Cano to a 8 year 200M deal.
The Angels will trade Kendrick to the Dodgers for Lee and change then sign Cano to a 10 year/ 300 Mil deal where he will subsequently break in the 5th game of spring training.
they won't go overboard with their offer, but don't sleep on Detroit stealing him away. their owner is shelling out money and when you're all in, you're all in. makes no sense to pay Fielder/Verlander/Sanchez/Martinez all that money and then not add another great piece to help keep you above the rest - making World Series appearances
I think there will not be a shortage of competition for Cano. The Tigers are a big threat, especially if they fall short again this year. The Rangers may be in the same boat with Profar struggling to acclimate to MLB pitching and likely losing Cruz. I know I made the joke about the Angels, but they could seriously do something drastic as well since Moreno will likely be desperate. Could try and move Kendrick for some pitching depth, but who knows what their thinking will be after the successful big money signings of Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols.
Another team to watch could be the Giants. With a terrible farm system, a ton of money coming off the books and the threat of the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, I could see their ownership potentially trying to make a splash. Put Cano at 2B and move Scutaro to open up even more in availabe finances.
Wow, I never thought of this but you could be right... But I'm thinking they go for a big free agent pitcher.
Cano is going to regret leaving Boras, I truly think so. Boras would make the Yankees bid against themselves and get Cano a huge deal, Jay-Z might get Cano laid but who knows about his deal. Again, I don't know about Jay-Z's agency and how good they are, but I just don't get why Cano would leave Boras.
Damn it, it wasn't when i posted it! someone is moving shit and I don't know which thread to be in now.
Concerns about his defense and Ellis/Punto are pffffft Young should be back http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2...se-at-second-base/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs
Much ado about nothing. If he's league average, he's gold. And if they keep praising his bat...well, he should make up for defensive runs with offensive ones of his own.
